Being from Poland, he was also ever mindful of the Christian East, of its treasures and gifts so needed and yet so often overlooked by the West. As an Eastern Catholic, I also recognize this need for greater awareness of the Eastern Christian tradition on the part of Roman Catholics. This book is, then, also a response to the exhortation which Pope John Paul II made to the Church in his Apostolic Letter, Orientale Lumen: "Since, in fact, we believe that the venerable and ancient tradition of the Eastern Churches is an integral part of the heritage of Christ's Church, the first need for Catholics is to be familiar with that tradition, so as to be nourished by it and to encourage the process of unity in the best way possible for each." And so, my hope is that this book will find its way into the prayerful hands of people of all walks of life. It is perfectly suited for the classroom or as part of a homeschool curriculum, for the elderly, for those who love Orthodox iconography, for those growing or who wish to grow in their knowledge of Latin and who wish to learn to pray in the language of the Church without expending too much effort. Finally, this book is for anyone who loves the Rosary and it will make a wonderful gift for anyone who wishes to share that love with others.
