Because of the extraordinary claims in "Novel North American Hominins, Next Generation Sequencing of Three Whole Genomes and Associated Studies" (Ketchum et al., 2013) the Bigfoot Community has been debating it ever since. This book is the result of research over seven years (more than the original study) in understanding the Sasquatch Genome Project and its published paper. Dr. Haskell Hart tells the story of his increasing involvement and understanding of the paper as he presents his own results and conclusions, which are at odds with the Ketchum et al. paper. He first explains the structure and function of DNA as background. With 45 figures and 29 tables of data (more than in the original paper), all carefully explained to the layman, this extensive scientific critique of the paper is the only one of its kind.

Recent DNA sequencing of Sasquatch, also known as "Bigfoot" has revealed mitochondrial DNA with the same configuration as modern humans. In researching areas of Central Texas, David Claerr has found very strong evidence that the Sasquatch use tools made of flint, bone, antler and wood. In this interesting and engaging account, Mr. Claerr details one of his many expeditions and the discoveries made at that time.

Some of you may have noticed that I am not a young man. Once upon a time I was. It is more than 35 years since I first encountered information about what is now known as Bigfoot, 30 years since I began to investigate the phenomenon, and about 29 years since I began a campaign to have it subjected to scientific exploration. On the face of it, this organization and this subject should be a perfect fit. I doubt that there exists any anomaly of as much potential scientific importance that has been so determinedly ignored by the world of science. I understand, however, that most of you are not likely to have paid any attention to it, so with apologies to those who have I am going to begin at the beginning. In British Columbia, where I grew up, stories about hairy forest giants, known there as sasquatch, have been widely publicized since the 1920s. I don't re- member a time when I was not aware of them, but like most city dwellers I considered them to be tall tales, and indeed to some extent they were.

He also shared how he helped them, with the assistance of his wife, Cynthia, and also Mike Kincaid, Steve Bachmann, and Grady Johnson, to bring their remaining family and friends through the portal from their dying home world to the Earth via the EXODUS. In this book, The Xanue: Befriending The Bigfoot Forest People, Dr. Johnson shares about who the Xanue are, where they're from, and why they're here. He discusses their history and how and why the Xanue Council of Twelve selected him as their Ambassador (“The 13”). Then Zorth, the head of the Xanue Council of 12, answers 400 questions submitted to him via 125 people. Finally, all of the above is corroborated by 30 mind-blowing eyewitnes's testimonials from people from all walks of life who live in the USA, Canada, and England. Dr. Matthew and Cynthia Johnson have helped hundreds of people connect with the Xanue via their books, seminars, videos, conferences, and summer camps. Professor Bryan Sykes, the world's leading expert on human genetics, set a goal to locate and analyse as many DNA samples as possible with links to the yeti. In doing so, he found himself entering a strange world of mystery and sensationalism, fraud and obsession and even the supernatural. Protected by the ruthless vigour of genetic analysis he was able to listen to the stories of the yeti without having to form an opinion. The only opinion that mattered was the DNA. Three hair samples from the miogi, the Bhutanese yeti are the cause of the investigation. The hairs did not surrender their secrets easily, but eventually two were identified as known species of bear. The third remained a mystery. One of the many theories to account for the yeti legend is that there were small groups of Neanderthals that had managed to survive until recent times. If so, would it be possible to detect recent interbreeding between our own species and Neanderthals in the genomes of indigenous people living in remote regions? Professor Sykes has made some surprising and significant discoveries. Discoveries that could change our understanding of human origins.

The most well-known cryptid in American history, Bigfoot is as feared as he is loved. The subject of thousands of stories, this creature has been pegged as a monster terrorizing the woods, a supernatural entity stealthily living among us with an otherworldly agenda, or simply an animal trying to live a life of seclusion. Mart and Mel Cabre reveal the myths, personal stories, and pop culture surrounding the legendary icon. Featuring more than 80 images recreating the Bigfoot’s appearance from firsthand accounts and folktales, The Legend of Bigfoot showcases the many faces of the creature. A scientific excursion into folklore, zoology, and cryptozoology, this text highlights a field, often called a pseudoscience, which seriously considers the possible existence of hidden or unknown animals not recognised in conventional zoology. Folklore and Zoology accessibly reviews the science of DNA samples; film and photograph analysis; hair and footprint examination; and the statistics behind such alleged animals as Sasquatch and the Yeti, Nessie and Champ, the Griffin and the Thunderbirds, and the possible survival of the thylacine, ivory-billed woodpecker, eastern cougar, and others. With over 400 references, Folklore and Zoology is among the most complete scientific review of cryptozoology to date, with discussion of the history and future, and successes and failures of this controversial and fascinating field, offering a fresh synthesis of a highly interdisciplinary literature. This book is ideal reading for students and academics interested in and studying zoology, palaeontology, and folklore courses.

Drawing The Map Of Life written by Viktor K. McElheny and has been published by Basic Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-07-31 with Science categories.

Drawing the Map of Life is the dramatic story of the Human Genome Project from its origins, through the race to order the 3 billion subunits of DNA, to the surprises emerging as scientists seek to exploit the molecule of heredity. It's the first account to deal in depth with the intellectual roots of the project, the motivations that drove it, and the hype that often masked genuine triumphs. Distinguished science journalist Victor McElheny offers vivid, insightful profiles of key people, such as David Botstein, Eric Lander, Francis Collins, James Watson, Michael Hunkapiller, and Craig Venter. McElheny also shows that the Human Genome Project is a striking example of how new techniques (such as restriction enzymes and sequencing methods) often arrive first, shaping the questions scientists then ask. Drawing on years of original interviews and reporting in the inner circles of biological science, Drawing the Map of Life is the definitive, up-to-date story of today's greatest scientific quest. No one who wishes to understand genome mapping and how it is transforming our lives can afford to miss this book.
