Scientific development in a country is a continuous phenomenon. Enquiry is basic to scientific development and nothing should be accepted unless proved on predetermined parameters. At the same time scientists, at times have to go against accepted social and religious norm and beliefs, and they should not shy away. There are many instances in the history of social developments where scientists have been ridiculed and subjected to harassment and ignobility. But that should not deter a scientist from the quest he may have embarked upon.Scientific development needs temporal support without which it may be difficult and time consuming. Scientific development also has to be timely and contemporary as required. Development is relative to need of the time, and of course to what extent can it be useful to the mankind in his journey to the ultimate.In this part I have discussed ancient scientific wisdom in India, dormant medieval period, and revival, if not composite at least in certain areas, and have pointed out weakness in the system.
