This book is written for scientists and engineers whose work involves wave reflec tion or transmission. Most of the book is written in the language of electromagnetic theory, but, as the title suggests, many of the results can be applied to particle waves, specifically to those satisfying the Schr6dinger equation. The mathematical connection between electromagnetic s (or TE) waves and quantum particle waves is established in Chapter 1. The main results for s waves are translated into quantum mechanical language in the Appendix. There is also a close analogy between acoustic waves and electromagnetic p (or TM) waves, as shown in Section 1-4. Thus the book, though primarily intended for those working in optics, microwaves and radio, will be of use to physicists, chemists and electrical engineers studying reflection and transmission of particles at potential barriers. The tech niques developed here can also be used by those working in acoustics, ocean ography and seismology. Chapter 1 is recommended for all readers: it introduces reflection phenomena, defines the notation, and previews (in Section 1-6) the contents of the rest of the book. This preview will not be duplicated here. We note only that applied topics do appear: two examples are the important phenomenon of attenuated total reflection in Chapter 8, and the reflectivity of multilayer dielectric mirrors in Chapter 12. The subject matter is restricted to linear classical electrodynamics in non-magnetic media, and the corresponding particle analogues.

Despite successes of modern physics, the existence of dark energy and matter is indicative that conventional mechanical accounting is lacking. The most basic of all mechanical principles is Newton’s second law, and conventionally, energy is just energy whether particle or wave energy. In this monograph, Louis de Broglie’s idea of simultaneous existence of both particle and associated wave is developed, with a novel proposal to account for mass and energy through a combined particle-wave theory. Newton’s second law of motion is replaced by a fully Lorentz invariant reformulation inclusive of both particles and waves. The model springs from continuum mechanics and forms a natural extension of special relativistic mechanics. It involves the notion of “force in the direction of time” and every particle has both particle and wave energies, arising as characteristics of space and time respectively. Dark matter and energy then emerge as special or privileged states occurring for alignments of spatial forces with the force in the direction of time. Dark matter is essentially a backward wave and dark energy a forward wave, both propagating at the speed of light. The model includes special relativistic mechanics and Schrödinger’s quantum mechanics, and the major achievements of mechanics and quantum physics. Our ideas of particles and waves are not yet properly formulated, and are bound up with the speed of light as an extreme limit and particle-wave demarcation. Sub-luminal particles have an associated superluminal wave, so if sub-luminal waves have an associated superluminal particle, then there emerges the prospect for faster than light travel with all the implications for future humanity. Carefully structured over special relativity and quantum mechanics, Mathematics of Particle-Wave Mechanical Systems is not a completed story, but perhaps the first mechanical model within which such exalted notions might be realistically and soberly examined. If ultimately the distant universe become accessible, this will necessitate thinking differently about particles, waves and the role imposed by the speed of light. The text constitutes a single proposal in that direction and a depository for mathematically related results. It will appeal to researchers and students of mathematical physics, applied mathematics and engineering mechanics.

Light and Vacuum presents a synthesis of selected fundamental topics of electromagnetic wave theory and quantum electrodynamics (QED) and analyzes the main theoretical difficulties encountered to ensure a coherent mathematical description of the simultaneous wave-particle nature of light, put in evidence by the experiments. The notion and the role of the quantum vacuum, strongly related to light, are extensively investigated.Classical electrodynamics issued from Maxwell's equations revealed the necessity of introducing the notion of volume for an electromagnetic wave to stand entailing precise values of cut-off wavelengths to account for the shape and dimensions of the surrounding space. Conversely, in QED, light is considered to be composed of point particles disregarding the conceptual question on how the frequency of oscillating electric and magnetic fields may be attributed to a point particle. To conciliate these concepts, the book provides a comprehensive overview of the author's work, including innovative contributions on the quantization of the vector potential amplitude at a single photon state, the non-local simultaneous wave-particle mathematical representation of the photon and finally the quantum vacuum. The purpose of the advanced elaborations is to raise questions, give hints and answers, and finally aspire for further theoretical and experimental studies in order to improve our knowledge and understanding on the real essence of Light and Vacuum. In this new edition, improvements have been made to the various chapters taking into account the actual status of the knowledge in this field. The photon wave function is further analyzed and a new concept of quantum vacuum is advanced compatible with recent astrophysical observations.

This book is about Maxwell's electromagnetic theory of light. First, it is a fully relativistic theory without having a non-relativistic limit. There arise many difficulties in quantising the electromagnetic field and in the physical interpretation of the wavefunction of its quanta. Further, the first quantisation of the Maxwell equations similar to quantisation of classical mechanics by the Schrodinger method, has not been discussed in most books on quantum mechanics. Second, the Maxwell field is the simplest gauge field possessing symmetry with respect to Poincare group of transformations in addition to scale, duality and special conformal transformations whose local versions give rise to new interaction of photons through new gauge fields. One of these gauge fields couples to the spin density of the photon and other particles and can bind fermion-antifermion pairs to give transverse photons. Another interesting aspect of the electromagnetic field is its coherence properties and their interpretation in terms of quantised theory.

The Dot Wave Theory And The Dual Light Speed Universe written by Gerald Grushow and has been published by Independently Published this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-15 with Science categories.

The Dot-Wave Theory started in 1981 when I was 42 year of age. I wanted to understand how the universe came into being. I had been a Sperry Electrical Engineer among my other jobs. From 1981 to 1983 I studied existing scientific information. I studied the general equations of science and looked for simple algebraic equations which would explain gravity and the structure of the universe. Between 1981 and 1983 I discovered the dot-wave which is the fundamental particle wave of the universe. Everything is made from plus dot-waves, minus dot-waves, and bipolar dot-waves. I was able to write the equations of gravity for the hydrogen atom. This enabled me to obtain the time of the universe from the big bang inversion to the present. In addition the cycle time of the Universe calculated to be 1088 billion years from big bang to big bang. Over the years I self-published many books which were sold in small numbers all over the world. The big problem I had was explaining how the dot-waves worked. How does the universe oscillate? Over the years new scientific data appeared which enabled me to advance my thinking. Lately the Quantum entanglement scientists have discovered interactions greater than 10,000 Co where Co is 2.99792E8 meters per second. In my initial studies my Sister One solution eliminated kilograms from the equations. Kilograms are actually coulomb meters per second. This enabled equations for gravity and the amount of dot-waves in the electron, proton, neutron, and photon. In spite of this I was left with Einsteinian space time and Quantum mechanics. The two great theories did not match each other. Something was wrong. In 2018 I attempted to correct the situation by having my dot-waves oscillate from the light speed Co dimension to the light speed Cs dimension. Since the ratio of the permeability constant Uo to the gravitational constant G is 18832.8 and since they have the same units of meters squared per coulomb second, the light speed Cs must equal 18832.8Co. In spite of that after a few months it was self-evident to me that the dot-waves do not oscillate between dimensions but they radiate from light the light speed Co dimension to the light speed Cs dimension. The net result is that low light speed high mass energy flows from the visible universe to the invisible universe where it becomes high light speed low mass dot-waves. Thus the universe operates upon Einstein's E=MCC law. Once the theory is understood, Engineers and scientists can start to build proton thruster engines. This is explained in the book. The engines will enable flights to the moon in only 3.5 hours. With these engines we can achieve Mars in 53 hours. No weightlessness problems occur since the trip accelerates at 1G and then decelerates at 1G while achieving a maximum speed of 2 million miles per hour. The rocket will have advanced light speed Cs sensors and be able to destroy obstacles in its path. The engine is also capable of supplying all the electricity the world needs without dangerous atomic pollution since only simple materials are used as fuel such as carbon or iron. The book explains Doppler space time which has the same equations as Einstein from a geometric mean perspective but had differences in the frontal and rearward mass of objects. It explains how the light speed Co energy within a black hole escape by switching to light speed Cs energy. This book eventually will advance mankind to a much higher scientif9ic level and enable new sources of energy and new discoveries in science.
