He and Eileen spy on them as they unload heavy tools from the Jeep. As Eileen says, "They hate Skippy. Who could hate Skippy!!"When Mom and Dad go off island to work, sixteen year old John and fourteen year old Eileen begin snooping around. They enlist the help of John's buddy, Spider McGee, who has unusual talents requiring physical dexterity. When John and Spider follow the renters to a mysterious yacht docked off Gull Point and Eileen sneaks into the Bunker House they find more questions then answers and are determined to solve the mystery of the renters.John, a history buff who loves to read, finds clues in the "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich," the extensive history of WW II. Eileen seeks the aid of the town librarian, Mrs. Brown, who was living on the island during the war, and Spider hangs upside in trees and eavesdrops for clues. Skippy's dog sense both keeps them safe and also leads them into trouble!The action moves quickly from the time the ferry docks on Saturday till the exciting conclusion on Thursday morning.
