This novel takes place ten years after Hauron of the Eleven. Shaylae and Mika now have two children and are living peacefully in Utah. After a disturbing vision, Shaylae learns that an evil woman named Istas is attempting to destroy Nashota, Shaylaes distant ancestor. Nashota is the woman who returned with a large group of people back to Tal'el'Dineh, the original home of the Navajo. Shaylae decides to travel back in time to the late 16th Century to the time of Nashotas birth in order to protect her. Even though she succeeds, Shaylae realizes that the fight is far from over, also realizing that Istas is a far more powerful foe than any she has so far encountered. For the first time in her life, Shaylae has real misgivings about whether or not she can succeed in defeating Istas's unthinkable plans for the future of not just the Dineh, but for the Holy Ones themselves.

The year 2003 marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the lifting of the ban excluding black members from the priesthood of the Mormon church. The articles collected in Newell G. Bringhurst and Darron T. Smith's Black and Mormon look at the mechanisms used to keep blacks from full participation, the motives behind the ban, and the kind of changes that have--and have not--taken place within the church since the revelation responsible for its end. This challenging collection is required reading for anyone concerned with the history of racism, discrimination, and the Latter-day Saints.

In this book, I have presented eighty reasons to prove that the Book of Mormon is that of the history of Eritrea and Ethiopia, and its prophecies encompass the entire continent of Africa and the black race in general. I have also successfully identified who the authentic Israelites are in the world. The Book of Mormon contains the ultimate revelations the world has been waiting for many centuries. Its prophecies are incredibly very accurate and reveal the ultimate truths that were hidden from mankind for many centuries. When the Book of Mormon’s true messages are finally made known to mankind, as I am doing now, the world would marvel at the contents of its records. The perceptions of the white and black races especially would change dramatically. They shall view their relationships with each other from different perspectives when they come to the full knowledge and understanding of the truth contained in the Book of Mormon. The prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon very accurately from its Sa’bean script. However, the Mormon Church was not expected to know the truth about the valuable contents of the Book of Mormon until God’s own appointed time and did not do so for many decades. I am prophesied in the records of the Book of Mormon to reveal the final truth contained in the book at God’s appointed time, which is now. I am therefore doing the work the Lord designated me for, as prophesied in the Book of Mormon, and I am bringing to revelation the ultimate truths of the records of the book to the African people and our descendants all over the world. The African people and the black race especially are the primary beneficiaries and heirs to the records of the Book of Mormon. However, the truth contained in the Book of Mormon will not only benefit Africans but also the entire human race and especially the Gentiles or the white race.

The Testimony Of Two Nations written by Michael Austin and has been published by University of Illinois Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-01-02 with Religion categories.

Understanding the Book of Mormon on its own terms and through its two-way connection with the Bible Like the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible, the Book of Mormon uses narratives to develop ideas and present instruction. Michael Austin reveals how the Book of Mormon connects itself to narratives in the Christian Bible with many of the same tools that the New Testament used to connect itself to the Hebrew Bible to create the Christian Bible. As Austin shows, the canonical context for interpreting the Book of Mormon includes the Christian Bible, the Book of Mormon itself, and other writings and revelations that hold scriptural status in most Restoration denominations. Austin pays particular attention to how the Book of Mormon connects itself to the Christian Bible both to form a new canon and to use the canonical relationship to reframe and reinterpret biblical narratives. This canonical context provides an important and fruitful method for interpreting the Book of Mormon.

Stop looking for the Book of Mormon in Mesoamerica and start looking for Mesoamerica in the Book of Mormon! Second Witness, a new six-volume series from Greg Kofford Books, takes a detailed, verse-by-verse look at the Book of Mormon. It marshals the best of modern scholarship and new insights into a consistent picture of the Book of Mormon as a historical document. Taking a faithful but scholarly approach to the text and reading it through the insights of linguistics, anthropology, and ethnohistory, the commentary approaches the text from a variety of perspectives: how it was created, how it relates to history and culture, and what religious insights it provides. The commentary accepts the best modern scholarship, which focuses on a particular region of Mesoamerica as the most plausible location for the Book of Mormon’s setting. For the first time, that location—its peoples, cultures, and historical trends—are used as the backdrop for reading the text. The historical background is not presented as proof, but rather as an explanatory context. The commentary does not forget Mormon’s purpose in writing. It discusses the doctrinal and theological aspects of the text and highlights the way in which Mormon created it to meet his goal of “convincing . . . the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God.”

" ... From the time he was a boy, eighteen-year-old Ishmael has been regaled with incredible stories of his ancestors. His father is record-keeper of the Lamanite archives, a role that Ishmael will soon take on himself. Though his focus should be on his impending acceptance into the Lamanite tribe, Ishmael's thoughts are elsewhere. Long has he admired the lovely Maija, the woman he hopes to marry. But she refuses to wed a man who does not share her faith in the teachings of the Nephites and the words of Samuel the Lamanite about the sign of the Savior's impending birth. After beginning his work in the archives, Ishmael makes a momentous discovery when he unearths the lost record of the Lamanites--a history started by Laman himself. As he reads the accounts of Laman, Ishmael embarks on a journey of spiritual introspection as the seeds of faith in the words of Samuel begin to grow in Ishmael's heart. Yet even as he discovers the light of faith, a darkness spreads across the land. The Gadianton robbers are hunting all those who believe on the words of Samuel, and Ishmael must make a decision: join their brotherhood, or lose the people most precious to him."--

Helaman through Moroni. This volume is the third of three on the Book of Mormon. It covers the Book of Helaman through through the Book of Moroni. This includes the period of great wickedness just prior to the coming of Christ. We read of the missions of Nephi and Lehi, followed by Samuel the Lamanite. The signs of Christ's birth and death are given, followed by their fulfillment. Great destruction occurs on the American continent, and only the righteous survive in the Land of Bountiful. Christ appears to the Nephites, teaches and heals them, organizes His Church and ordains 12 disciples to lead them. After His departure, a Zion people live in peace for many years, then decline again into great wickedness. We read of the final days of the Nephites in the writings of Mormon and Moroni. We also read about the Jaredites, who were the first to inherit the land, long before Lehi's family arrived. In all, it covers 2,000 years of Jaredite history, and 469 years of Nephite history from 52 BC to 421 AD when the book of Moroni closes. The cover features a beautiful painting titled "Behold Your Little Ones," by Del Parson.
