A new threat is lurking in the shadows in the electrifying fifth novel of The Hidden World of Changers series! Fiona, Mack, Gabriella, and Darren are Changers, a magical line of shapeshifters that can transform into mythological creatures, from werewolves and selkies to lightning birds and spirit foxes. It’s spring break in Willow Cove, and Mack, Gabriella, Darren, and Fiona are going on a class trip to Wyndemere Academy, a boarding school just for Changers! The kids are excited to learn more about the Changer world and to compete in the Youngling Games, a sporting event held each spring. But while Gabriella trains for the Games, Fiona camps out in the library, and Darren learns more about his powers, something is following Mack. He keeps catching a glimpse of a fox—a kitsune like him—with gleaming golden fur. Little does Mack know that the kitsune has a message for him, and nothing will stop her from delivering it.

In The Shadow Of Detroit written by David Roberts and has been published by Wayne State University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

"Roberts intertwines McGregor's corporate, civic, and personal lives to trace his pioneering role in the automobile industry. Some themes from McGregor's career that are considered here include company growth, the technical and cultural concept of the automobile, the impact of automotive transportation, technological reliance on Detroit, parent-branch relations, the effects of border proximity, industrial and political lobbying, labor relations, secondary manufacturing, public involvement, and the Great War. In addition, Roberts probes McGregor's often-subservient relationship with the enigmatic Henry Ford and examines how McGregor drew praise and political ire in calling for regional governance in the "Border Cities" opposite Detroit. In the years before his premature death, McGregor and his company dominated and defined the growing automotive industry in Windsor-Detroit, and their story deserves to be more widely known.".

Historic Preservation written by Michael A. Tomlan and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-21 with Social Science categories.

This well-illustrated book offers an up-to-date synthesis of the field of historic preservation, cast as a social campaign concerned with the condition, treatment and use of the legacy of existing properties in the United States. Drawing on a wide range of research, experience and scholarship over the last fifty years, it allows us to re-think past and current ideas in preservation, challenging readers to explore how their own interests lie within the cognitive framework of the activities taking place with people who care. “Who” is involved is explored first, in such a way as to explore “why”, before examining “what” is deemed important. After that the questions of “when” and “how” to proceed are given attention. The major topics are introduced in an historical review through the mid-1980s, after which the broad intellectual basis and fundamental legal framework is provided. The economic shifts associated with major demographic changes are explored, in tandem with responses of the preservation community. A chapter is dedicated to the financial challenges and sources of revenue available in typical preservation projects, and another chapter focuses on the manner in which seeing, recording, and interpreting information provides the context for an appropriate vision for the future. In this regard, it is made clear that not all “green” design alternatives are preservation-sensitive. The advocacy battles during the last few decades provide a number of short stories of the ethical battles regarding below-ground and above ground historic resources, and the eighth chapter attempts to explain why religion has been long held at arm’s length in publicly-supported preservation efforts, when in fact, it holds more potential to regenerate existing sites than any governmental program.
