Gert O'Connell and her amateur sleuthing friends, Judith and Henry Geeth, find themselves once again in the middle of a baffling murder case, this time at a sinister ancient Irish castle during the ghoulish season of Samhain. It is Hallowe'en night in 1953, and the eccentric owner of the Castle Bronmore, Colin Keeley, is throwing a costume party for some friends and relatives, but all is not fun and games. It soon becomes clear that Colin has plans to indulge a longstanding grudge against some of the party guests in a most macabre fashion - plans that include the skeleton of an old Irish patriot in the dungeon who has an unsettling tendency to spring to life and speak truths that some may not wish to be revealed. As tempers flare and political ideologies clash, the party quickly disintegrates into chaos, culminating in a gruesome murder. Now Gert and her friends, themselves considered suspects by the police, set about disentangling the clues to find the killer and, in the process, discover the truth behind the mysterious talking skeleton of Castle Bronmore.

On July 28, 1996, two young men stumbled upon human bones in the shallow water along the shore of the Columbia River near Kennewick, Washington. Was this an unsolved murder? The remnants of some settler's or Native American's unmarked grave? What was the story behind this skeleton? Within weeks, scientific testing yielded astonishing news: the bones were more than 9,000 years old! The skeleton instantly escalated from interesting to extraordinary. He was an individual who could provide firsthand evidence about the arrival of humans in North America. The bones found scattered in the mud acquired a name: Kennewick Man. Authors Sally M. Walker and Douglas W. Owsley take you through the painstaking process of how scientists determined who Kennewick Man was and what his life was like. New research, never-before-seen photos of Kennewick Man's remains, and a lifelike facial reconstruction will introduce you to one of North America's earliest residents. But the story doesn't end there. Walker and Owsley also introduce you to a handful of other Paleoamerican skeletons, exploring their commonalities with Kennewick Man. Together, their voices form a chorus to tell the complex tale of how humans came to North America—if we will only listen.

A chilling middle grade novel featuring a brave young girl, missing parents, and a terrifying stranger, based on a Native American legend. R.L. Stine, New York Times bestselling author of the Goosebumps series, raved, "This book gave ME nightmares!” Molly’s father, who grew up on the Mohawk Reserve of Akwesasne, always had the best scary stories. One of her favorites was the legend of Skeleton Man, a gruesome tale about a man with such insatiable hunger he ate his own flesh before devouring those around him. But ever since her parents mysteriously vanished, those spooky tales have started to feel all too real. Don't miss The Legend of Skeleton Man: a spine-tingling collection of Skeleton Man and its sequel, The Return of Skeleton Man!

This is a story about a modern day hunter that is hunting in a strange area, even though he hunted the Black Hills for over thirty years. During this hunt, he comes across burnt foundations and 5 graves. These stones have his relation names on them with the date of death all on the same day. He finds a skeleton nearby that he uncovers and says, "If only these bones could talk!" It goes back to 1866 through what happens, causing these deaths. It goes to 1877 and tells how the Davey is adopted. It follows the lives through the Deadwood gold discovery days. He and Russ have a ranch partnership and the story shows problems and events involved in ranching, and Indian problems. Many things happen, building friendships, also facing perils in those days. It explains the deaths of the family and finally uncovers the murderous deed and those responsible. It's based on historical facts, no one is written about without their permission. If it does cover anything or anyone, it is unintentional. I have written this book based on Christian background, without any swearing or sex, so it is readable for all ages.

The Bible is a book concerned with faith. Because God is a God of relationship, the Bible traces the lives of many who had a relationship with God, as well as many who did not. In the Bible God tells Hosea, “for I am God and no mortal,” (11:9). Simply put, this scripture teaches us that God does not choose as we do. For example, he delivers The Ten Commandments into the hands of a murderer, a non-Jewish prostitute is chosen to become the great-great grandmother of King David of Israel, and a hated Samaritan becomes the hero of one of Jesus’ most enduring parables. These Biblical figures can teach us much about grace, faith, courage, and repentance. Through brief daily readings, The Bones of the Bible reviews and makes relevant some of the people and events of each book of the Bible, all within the course of a year. You will discover that their journeys are not that different from our own and that the one constant we can depend on is the grace of a loving God.
