Man's ability to innovate fuels technological development, and thus economic and social progress. The last decades have seen enormous changes to our world, including great strides in our communication infrastructure, fuelled by the internet and the smart phone. With the burgeoning of social media, electronic banking, as well as cyber warfare, modern society faces immense and often disruptive changes in the fast-moving Age of Innovation. In a work of splendid scholarship, author B.J.G. Van der Kooij delves, in his eighth book, into the History of Innovation, starting in ancient times. Taking his readers on a tour, from the Neolithic Revolution, through the Urban, to the Axial Revolution, he analyses the Affairs of Man along the themes Climate, Technology, Religion and Society. Indeed Climate Change played a major role, even thousands of years ago and the author takes us through the stone, bone and ceramic technologies, up to the Iron Revolution. From the ancient spirits of the natural world that became the polytheistic religions ruling human affairs, he explores the ancient civilisations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome, up to the advent of Christ. These times saw technological evolution and revolution, advancing with transfer of wealth, knowledge and power; times that saw the dawn of civilisation as we know it. Illustrating how the cognitive ability of curiosity, ingenuity and creativity shaped Homo creatives, this thought-provoking study of the history and impact of innovation on civilisations, helps us to understand how Change and Novelty ruled our past, and will guide our future.

The book With the decline of cultural discourse in our contemporary century and the strong emergence of the economic phenomenon and its dictators in the daily life of people in today’s world, which has created amazing poverty in the discourse of (reason) and extreme poverty in awareness of the meaning of life and higher values. Economic control has led to the birth of elites (of money and business) and wealth. Lightness in weight and lightness in intellectual production and meaning in its speeches, but is economics a speech? Money first, but then what? A collection of questions and discussions about the fate of the world that does not think. In return, the tragedy of the era has generated poverty, famine hunger, see( On April 17, 2024, the 2023 Global Hunger Index (GHI) Report UN ) and daily misery for huge segments in today’s world. As the saying is broadcast, ‘’an empty stomach does not think’’, and we are faced with double poverty: an economy poor in thought and the poor deprived of the strength of the stomach and (the head). Does humanity today think about acquiring the skill of thinking?

Reflections On The Revolution Of Our Time written by Harold Laski and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-05 with History categories.

Harold J. Laski saw World War Two as a period of revolutionary change as profound as any in the modern history of the human race. In his view, the period's inner nature was as significant in its essentials as those which saw the fall of the Roman Empire; the birth in the Reformation of capitalist society; or, as in 1789, the final chapter in the dramatic rise of the middle class to power. All of these were not revolutions made by thinkers, though some of them may have foreseen its coming, but of ordinary people who shaped the large outlines of the direction of these changes. Laski held that revolutions of our time have been rooted in all that goes to give its present character to our society. We can recognize its advent and prepare for it; in that event, we might build a civilization richer and more secure than any of which we so far have knowledge. Or we may chose to resist its onset; in which case, it will appear to some future generation that our age has sought rather to sweep back the tides of the ocean than to oppose the decrees of men. The curse of our social order is its persistent inequalities. Either we must find ourselves able to co-operate in their removal, or we shall move rapidly to conflict about them. Laski argues that the middle class must co-operate with workers in essential revisions, as the aristocracy was wise enough to do a century ago over the Reform Bill, or violent revolution will be unleashed by means that transforms the ends of either party to the conflict in view. This is the choice that lies before us. Just how accurate or wide of the mark Laski was is brilliantly articulated in the critical introduction by Sidney A. Pearson, Jr.
