Embedded and ubiquitous computing systems have considerably increased their scope of application over the past few years, and they now also include missi- and business-critical scenarios. The advances call for a variety of compelling - sues, including dependability, real-time, quality-of-service, autonomy, resource constraints, seamless interaction, middleware support, modeling, veri?cation, validation, etc. The International Workshop on Software Technologies for Future Embedded and Ubiquitous Systems (SEUS) brings together experts in the ?eld of emb- ded and ubiquitous computing systems with the aim of exchanging ideas and advancing the state of the art about the above-mentioned issues. I was honored to chair the sixth edition of the workshop, which continued the tradition of past editions with high-quality research results. I was particularly pleased to host the workshop in the wonderful scenario of Capri, with its stunning views and traditions. The workshop started in 2003 as an IEEE event, and then in 2007 it became a ?agship event of the IFIP Working Group 10.2 on embedded systems. The last few editions, held in Hakodate (Japan), Vienna (Austria), Seattle (USA), Gyeongju (Korea), and Santorini (Greece), were co-located with the IEEE - ternationalSymposiumonObject/Component/Service-OrientedReal-TimeD- tributed Computing (ISORC). This year, SEUS was held as a stand-alone event for the ?rst time, and, - spite the additionalorganizationaldi?culties, it resultedina high-qualityevent, with papers from four continents (from USA, Europe, East Asia and Australia), (co-) authored and presented from senior scientists coming from academia or leading industrial research centers.

Escape the humdrum reality and plunge into a world of virtual history and shadowy conspiracies with "Aethelred's Ascent: The Chronos Deception." Eleanor Graham, a cybersecurity expert with a penchant for uncovering hidden patterns, finds herself ensnared in a digital labyrinth far more intricate than any game. While dissecting the hyper-realistic VR world of 11th-century England, she uncovers a meticulously crafted cipher, a breadcrumb trail leading to a clandestine society known as the Chronos Key custodians. They claim to be guardians of time, but Eleanor's investigation reveals a far more sinister truth: they are architects of manipulation, subtly influencing historical events from the shadows. Enter Marcus Kane, a clandestine government operative haunted by past failures, whose mission is to infiltrate the Chronos Key and expose their agenda. He recognizes Eleanor's discovery as both a crucial lead and a potential vulnerability, and their uneasy alliance, born of necessity, evolves into a formidable partnership. Together, they navigate the treacherous currents of a conspiracy spanning centuries, from the digitized battlefields of "Aethelred's Ascent" to the hallowed halls of Oxford and the crumbling ruins of French castles. Their pursuit unveils a cast of compelling characters: Victoria Craig, an expert in psychological manipulation who preys on Eleanor's insecurities; Dale Price, a ruthless tactician who exploits Marcus’s past failures; and Sean Porter, the Custodians’ conflicted archivist, caught between loyalty and doubt. As Eleanor and Marcus delve deeper, the lines between the virtual and tangible blur, and they discover that the Chronos Key is not merely a historical relic but a device with the potential to fracture time itself. The Custodians' target: the Children’s Crusade, its potential alteration threatening to ripple through time and create a dystopian present. Amidst the escalating chaos, an unexpected spark ignites between Eleanor and Marcus, a fragile connection amidst the encroaching darkness. Their burgeoning love becomes both a strength and a vulnerability as they face a final, heart-pounding confrontation within the digital landscape of "Aethelred's Ascent." The virtual and physical worlds collide as they battle not only the Custodians and their relentless digital guardians but the fracturing fabric of reality itself. The fate of history rests on their shoulders, their skills honed, their bond forged, and their love tested in the crucible of a conspiracy that spans centuries. Can they unravel the Chronos Deception and save history before time itself shatters?

The Routledge Companion to John Wesley provides an overview of the work and ideas of one of the principal founders of Methodism, John Wesley (1703-91). Wesley remains highly influential, especially within the worldwide Methodist movement of some eighty million people. As a preacher and religious reformer his efforts led to the rise of a global Protestant movement, but the wide-ranging topics addressed in his writings also suggest a mind steeped in the intellectual developments of the North Atlantic, early modern world. His numerous publications cover not only theology but ethics, history, aesthetics, politics, human rights, health and wellbeing, cosmology and ecology. This volume places Wesley within his eighteenth-century context, analyzes his contribution to thought across his multiple interests, and assesses his continuing relevance today. It contains essays by an international team of scholars, drawn from within the Methodist tradition and beyond. This is a valuable reference particularly for scholars of Methodist Studies, theology, church history and religious history.

Rabbi Jesus written by Bruce Chilton and has been published by Image this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-05-14 with Religion categories.

Beginning with the Gospels, interpretations of the life of Jesus have flourished for nearly two millennia, yet a clear and coherent picture of Jesus as a man has remained elusive. In Rabbi Jesus, the noted biblical scholar Bruce Chilton places Jesus within the context of his times to present a fresh, historically accurate, and revolutionary examination of the man who founded Christianity. Drawing on recent archaeological findings and new translations and interpretations of ancient texts, Chilton discusses in enlightening detail the philosophical and psychological foundations of Jesus’ ideas and beliefs. His in-depth investigation also provides evidence that contradicts long-held beliefs about Jesus and the movement he led. Chilton shows, for example, that the High Priest Caiaphas, as well as Pontius Pilate, played a central role in Jesus’ execution. It is, however, Chilton’s description of Jesus’ role as a rabbi, or "master," of Jewish oral traditions, as a teacher of the Cabala, and as a practitioner of a Galilean form of Judaism that emphasized direct communication with God that casts an entirely new light on the origins of Christianity. Seamlessly merging history and biography, this penetrating, highly readable book uncovers truths lost to the passage of time and reveals a new Jesus for the new millennium.
