I always knew I’d marry my first everything, Declan Yaeger, the Southern boy with Irish roots. That was before he became my first heartbreak, a NHL superstar with a playboy reputation I no longer recognize. The summer he left our small, Tennessee town, to pursue his hockey dream is the summer my life changed. That was seven years ago, before he became a defenseman for the Boston Hawks. Before I became a hardened, desperate woman, trying to survive. To protect my grandfather's legacy, I agree to marry my oldest childhood friend, Henry. But when I enter the Church on my wedding day, the grey eyes piercing mine aren’t my fiancé’s. They’re Declan’s, the last person I expect to show up with an offer of his own. One I can’t refuse even though my heart should know better than to accept. Will my marriage to Declan heal the broken between us? Or are we destined to repeat the mistakes of our past?

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The founder and co-CEO of Salesforce delivers an inspiring vision for successful companies of the future—in which changing the world is everyone’s business. “The gold standard on how to use business as a platform for change at this urgent time.”—Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates and author of Principles: Life and Work What’s the secret to business growth and innovation and a purpose-driven career in a world that is becoming vastly more complicated by the day? According to Marc Benioff, the answer is embracing a culture in which your values permeate everything you do. In Trailblazer, Benioff gives readers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of one of the world’s most admired companies. He reveals how Salesforce’s core values—trust, customer success, innovation, and equality—and commitment to giving back have become the company’s greatest competitive advantage and the most powerful engine of its success. Because no matter what business you’re in, Benioff says, values are the bedrock of a resilient company culture that inspires all employees, at every level, to do the best work of their lives. Along the way, he shares insights and best practices for anyone who wants to cultivate a company culture positioned to thrive in the face of the inevitable disruption ahead. None of us in the business world can afford to sit on the sidelines and ignore what’s going on outside the walls of our workplaces. In the future, profits and progress will no longer be sustainable unless they serve the greater good. Whether you run a company, lead a small team, or have just draped an ID badge around your neck for the first time, Trailblazer reveals how anyone can become an agent of change. Praise for Trailblazer “A guide for what every business and organization must do to thrive in this period of profound political and economic change.”—Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase “In Trailblazer, Benioff explores how companies can nurture a values-based culture to become powerful platforms for change.”—Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube

Nathan Bartlett is a trailblazer—not because he follows established routes in the White Mountains, or on Kaua'i, or on Mt. Desert Island, but because he explores and then follows that inner path that tells him who he is and how he relates to the world around him. Forging his path doesn't mean he finds all the answers. It means he identifies the questions that matter. In On Chocorua, Nathan begins his journey as a college freshman. He makes a life-long friend, feels the pain of losing a lover to addiction, and loses his adored older brother Neil in a tragic accident. Although Nathan steps figuratively into the hiking boots Neil can no longer wear, he can’t leave behind him the guilt he feels that he didn’t know Neil—or his other family members—as well as he’d thought. He also can’t seem to find the sense of being loved, the sense of belonging that Neil had given him, no matter how many mountain peaks he claims, no matter how deep the existential forgiveness he feels hiking on the island of Kaua’i (On the Kalalau Trail). He’s had his fill of relationships that go nowhere, of men who’ve led him astray emotionally and on the mountains he climbs in memory of Neil Then, in On The Precipice, Nathan meets Drew Madden, a true mountain man who fell from a cliff and now uses a wheelchair. Nathan’s relationship with Drew helps him realize he’s been looking for himself in all the wrong places and guides him toward his own personal trail, which includes a career in addiction recovery. Nathan is a trailblazer on his own journey. And his success will be measured not by how well he follows someone else's path, but by whether he can forge his own. Walk with him.

Canada has a rich Black history filled with fascinating stories of resilience, advocacy and innovation. Black people have been in Canada for over 400 years - for as long as the first Europeans. Their labour helped to build Canada's economy, their skills led Canada's innovation and their activism helped make Canada a better place. Trailblazers: The Black Pioneers Who Have Shaped Canada is a disruptive children's book that introduces readers to Canada's Black history through the incredible and undertold stories of over forty important Black agents of change in Canada. Some of these trailblazers such as Josiah Henson have saved lives through their bravery, others such as Viola Desmond and Bromley Armstrong have improved laws through their advocacy. Some such as Bernice Redmon have broken down barriers by being the first in their field while others such as Elijah McCoy have invented new or better ways of doing things. With representation across regions, time periods and experiences and each short story carefully written in poetic form and accompanied by beautiful illustrations, this anthology brings complex topics and historical facts to life. Readers will finish this book with new knowledge gained, challenged ideas and a guide on how to blaze their own trails.

This book is for the entrepreneur who has a unique business idea that is supported by sound, thoughtful research and insight, but has not gained much support from the masses. It is for the creative who sees things differently, yet embraces the gift of their uniqueness even when they are misunderstood. This book is for the TRAILBLAZER. When a trailblazer or creative functions - in life, at work, in leisure - their perspective, approach, and often methodology for operation is prophetic in nature. They do not function the way they function because they are understood; they operate in the manner in which they operate because they see it differently. "Told you" is more than a phrase or a saying to the trailblazer - it is a declaration. It is a statement that validates creativity and difference. It is a statement that is often vindication for a perspective that was once too alone, scarce, or different to be accepted by the masses or majority, but is now embraced as brilliance, innovation, and excellence. Every time a trailblazer says "told you," they are speaking to the liberating nature of creativity, the power of knowledge and competency, and the confidence that comes naturally with knowing your greatness before everyone else figures it out. This offering will provide some insight into the mind, behavior, values, and plight of the trailblazer, and will offer 7 traits that every trailblazer has in common.

This beautiful picture book tells the little-known story of Raven Wilkinson, the first African American woman to dance for a major classical ballet company and an inspiration to Misty Copeland. When she was only five years old, her parents took her to see the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Raven perched on her crushed velvet seat, heard the tympani, and cried with delight even before the curtain lifted. From that moment on, her passion for dance only grew stronger. No black ballerina had ever danced with a major touring troupe before. Raven would be the first. Raven Wilkinson was born on February 2, 1935, in New York City. From the time she was a little girl, all she wanted to do was dance. On Raven's ninth birthday, her uncle gifted her with ballet lessons, and she completely fell in love with dance. While she was a student at Columbia University, Raven auditioned for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and was finally accepted on her third try, even after being told she couldn't dance with them because of her skin color. When she started touring with her troupe in the United States in 1955, Raven encountered much racism in the South, but the applause, alongside the opportunity to dance, made all the hardship worth it. Several years later she would dance for royalty with the Dutch National Ballet and regularly performed with the New York City Opera until she was fifty. This beautiful picture book tells the uplifting story of the first African American woman to dance for a major classical ballet company and how she became a huge inspiration for Misty Copeland. Theodore Taylor III's unique, heavy line style of illustration brings a deeper level of fluidity and life to the work, and Misty Copeland's beautifully written foreword will delight ballet and dance fans of all ages.
