I woke up one morning in late 2015 and thought to myself, "I am going to write one poem per day, every day in 2016, and then publish these in a book." At the time, I had not written any poetry, but I like to set myself personal challenges often and enjoy seeing them through. The early days were a challenge, in that I was not sure if I should be following a format, or if I was doing the right thing, but as each day went by, I found my groove more and more. All of the poems are inspired by a number of things; the goings on in my life, the lives of others, a lot are based on the Planet, the seasons and the tides of the ocean, and some are inspired by world events, and how we who reside in this world reacted to these events. Some of the early poems are more or less thoughts, or even just short sentences, but as you make your way through the book, you will hopefully find your own groove with them, as I did when crafting each. No poem has a heading, and I have done this as I do not want the heading to dictate what the poem is about. Each poem is up to your own interpretation, and each is designed to provoke thought, and inspire your own mind to explore the words, the feeling, the energy, and apply it to your own world. I wanted to do something different with this book, I wanted to 'set' the book at a frequency, so as to take you, the reader, on a journey back to center, back home. As with most of my ideas, I awoke one day with a vision that the pages of the book follow the colours of the 12 chakras, from the outer layer, to the inner core. The intent behind this being that the book itself, and the idea behind it, started out somewhere in the Universe, and then made its way to me, for me to channel the words onto paper, to live on forever. As you move through each poem, and each page, the intention is that you move closer and closer back to your inner being, who you truly are at the core, and that the colours as they also move, assist you on your journey. I'd like to say thank you for purchasing this book and wish you all the best on your journey back home.

"Tom Simone's translation is simply superb. Of all the translations with which I am familiar, this is the one that is the most faithful to what's there in the Italian: no frills, no poetic sallies, no choosing a word because it brings the line closer to iambic pentameter—just unadulterated Dante with good old Anglo-Saxon words and in highly readable prose." —Peter Kalkavage, St. John's University
