Foreword June marks the halfway point for the year. It says to us "you have been successful thus far". Rayen Kang lives this as a young artist. The laurels of her early success will not rest here. The vision of conservation by young people can only be surpassed by the continued work. There is no where one can turn without seeing information on climate change. What happened, what it is and how we need to change our lives is on the top of the list from the office of the President down to the youngest citizen. Rayen supports this through her art. Her "voice" brings awareness to the issues important to her. The realism in her choices of fowl bring us into her reality. We may only see a duck or a swan but the 80 plus hours she spent getting it true to her eye shows in how we appreciate the canvas. The world has yet to weigh in on this young lady. She, however, is busy weighing in on the world. Helping out as a research assistant on quantile estimation, presiding over the STEAM organization at Georgia Tech, and spending time encouraging other young women in the STEM field, she is making marks in tackling real world problems in a challenging environment. In this issue of the Year of the Poet, you will be challenged to see how we acknowledge the contributions of youth and how we see ourselves at the turning point of the year. We may allow our pens to reminiscence or dream forward. A very special thanks to the contributing poets. Keep in mind that you may think to yourself, "that is that piece", there is always more to come. The art cannot be stilled. Gail Weston Shazor Director of Anthologies

Foreword: The month of May this year marks for the book in your hands a commemoration of an art piece by Diego Rivera. "I paint what I see" is a statement attributed to this phenomenal visual artist. The context from which this assertion originates concerns artistic integrity as Rivera had viewed it. In our interpretations of the focal mural, we had no other option but to compose poems that depend on how we (want to) see his creative work. Had he lived today, would he have approved our varying observations of the one and the same fresco? Most probably, yes. For this monthly publication's contributors have, as in all past times, embraced the principle of "integrity" with high respect. While none of us could answer the rhetorical question above, each of us have committed ourselves into doing extensive research on the life and work of this prominent Mexican painter. The field of art historiography recognizes Diego Rivera as a revolutionary painter. His frescoes have been and continue to be celebrated as the birth of a mural movement in Mexican and international art. Having started his art studies at the age of ten, a multitude of opportunities accompanied Rivera. His 15-year long stay in Europe - primarily in Paris, a prevalent destination point for young European and American artists and writers, exposed him to various art movements, including Cubism which Pablo Picasso was leading. After he welcomed the realistic and post-impressionistic art styles, his paintings began to attract a growing attention outside Paris. His preference during that time to use simple forms and large areas of vibrant colors had made a significant impact in- as well as outside widely noted art circles. Following his life in Europe, Rivera painted murals throughout Mexico and in a considerable part of the US. Thanks to his extensive and innovative work between 1922 and 1953, the concept of public art was rediscovered. The reinvented public art which materialized in the hands of Diego Rivera in the 20th century is here to guide us in our era along the poems composed in his art's honor. As we approach one mural by this ground breaking painter, we would like to invite you to hold dear the story behind it. Not unlike his other paintings, Rivera has engraved a story also on this fresco, a story reflective of his life and work at large. His own words in My Art, My Life attest to this fact: As an artist, I have always tried to be faithful to my vision of life, and I have frequently been in conflict with those who wanted me to paint not what I saw but what they wished me to see.We hope that you will enjoy today's poetic journey on the international platform of The Year of the Poet through this artist's mural of our designation. In our creative treatment of the selected painting, we have "tried to be faithful" to the painter's "vision of life" as reflected in the quote above. May we not belong among those people with whom Diego Rivera was in conflict when his view of his own art was concerned.hülya n. yılmaz [sic]Professor Emerita (Liberal Arts, Penn State, USA)Director of Editing Services at Inner Child Press (USA) Published tri-lingual authorLiterary translator

Foreword: February is Black History Month. It is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. The event grew out of "Negro History Week," the brainchild of a noted historian Carter G. Woodson. Also known as the African American History Month, it has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom by remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. For the month of February, Inner Child poets are invited to celebrate Black History month by pondering upon the recreation of a mural of Emory Douglas and Richard Bell's "We Can Be Heroes" in 2014. It depicts a particular moment during the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games when Australian sprinter, Peter Norman stood in solidarity with African American sportsmen Tommie Smith and John Carlos to protest discrimination and inequality. This beautiful mural is located in Brisbane, Australia. Their collaborative project focuses on the Black Power movement of America and the Indigenous rights movements of Australia.Poetry like contemporary art s to reimagine and embrace new creative forms of activism that responds to social justice issues. 'Artists have a way of instantly communicating essence, almost like a language' says Emory Douglas who was an artist with the Black Panther Party for nearly 20 years starting in 1967. The controversial Richard Bell is one of Australia's most renowned Indigenous artists. With a penchant for sarcasm he explores stereotypes and racism through his self-titled 'Liberation art'. Douglas may be considered in a similar vein as the Minister of Culture in the Black Panther Party who was also the art director, designer and main illustrator for the Black Panther newspaper, creating iconic images that represented the struggles in America during the 1960s and 1970s.The 2020 has been a very difficult year. The challenges of surviving the pandemic made us aware of the potent interplay of self-isolation, social distancing, systemic oppression and marginalization. It heralded the awakening of a world ready to respond to the social justice issues that had been overlooked for a long time. We realized that truth is not what we want it to be; it is what it is. We need to liberate ourselves by unlearning oppressive social systems, and restoring and repairing our social contract with one another. A clenched fist embodies determination to achieve social Justice with fresh perspectives. In his autobiography, 'Silent Gesture', Tommie Smith writes that the clenched fist is not just a gesture of "Black Power" but also a "human rights" salute because oppression spares no body: oppressor or the oppressed. The questions to ponder for us are: How do we become the change we wish to see and how can we stay grounded and centered and increase our capacity for sustainable change? The aim of literature and art is to represent not the outward appearance of things but their inward significance. Ashok K. BhargavaPresident, Writers International Network Canada

The Moment Of Speech written by Annie Morrison and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-11-18 with Drama categories.

Annie Morrison, creator of the Morrison Bone Prop, abandons the notion that language and thought are mainly processed in the left cerebral hemisphere, and coaches the actor to speak from the heart. Through this method, words acquire physical properties, such as weight, texture, colour and kinetic force. Think about Martin Luther King, Mao Zedong or Malala Yousafzai; potent speech impacts external events. And internally, it forms and shapes the world of the speaker. Seeing articulation as a purely mechanical skill is detrimental to an actor's process: it is crucial to understand what language is doing on a biological level. This workbook is invaluable for actors, both professional and in training, and also for voice and speech teachers.

The cultural change denominated as “the new normal” goes far beyond the adaptation to habits like physical distancing, limited person-to-person contact, teleworking, and self-isolation established with the COVID-19 pandemic. A series of significant transformations in human behavior spreads today in societies all around the world: physical intimacy decreases while virtual reality expands and alterity declines while artificial intelligence emerges, leading to structural reconfigurations of sex, relationships, gender awareness, and subjectivity. Sexuality and Eroticism in a Post-pandemic World explores this new cultural atmosphere through twelve interdisciplinary essays questioning global governmentality and challenging the biopolitics of the new normal—the administration of self-control societies so politically correct that repressed desire for otherness only finds a simulation of its satisfaction with the forced abnormality, outrageousness, and violence of mainstream porn—, going from ars erotica to alternative pornography, from online dating to gender fluidity, from LGBTQI+ artivism to sex life cultivation, and more.
