Said God to Moses, "I am who I am." Ever since, questions about God abound. Who, what, where, when, why? Even, how many? In the Christian faith tradition, what about all that "trinitarian" stuff the Father, the Son, the Holy Sprit? Is it one God? Three Gods? What's up? I AM WHO I AM is God's answer to all these questions and more. For the first time ever, God speaks out. The God of the Holy Spirit, the immanent God inside, speaks out! And all is good. I AM WHO I AM is God's answer to all these questions and more. For the first time ever, God speaks out. By overthrowing the hierarchical Trinity (with the Father enjoying a view from the top and the Holy Spirit bringing up the rear) and by replacing it with a circular Trinity having no beginning and no end, for the first time ever, God is free to speak God's mind. The God of the Holy Spirit, the immanent God inside, speaks out! And all is good. The book is divided into six Parts (as we all know, on the seventh, God rests). After a general introduction in Part I, Parts II IV are devoted to each persona of the Trinity offering thoughts on anything and everything: on Creation and the Creative Process; on the "mind of God;" on the need for an "extreme make-over" when it comes to God and the Holy Trinity in contemporary society; on the universality of the story of Jesus; and so much more. Speaking to the reader in no-nonsense, user-friendly terms, Part V addresses such theological topics as "The Prayer of the Preyer," "S.I.N.," Satan, Heaven, Hell, and everything in between. The final part, the Epilogue, is a return of that talking donkey out of the Book of Number's, Balaam's Donkey, reporting from the parade route of Jesus into Jerusalem. It is something that no one should miss. Finally, an autobiography of God as seen through the lens of God! Finally, the God of the Holy Spirit gets his/her say! And all is good. (I AM WHO I AM is the first of three autobiographies featuring God, Satan, and Jesus, respectively. Stay tuned for Satan's personal story in E-MAILS FROM THE UNDERWORLD and for I AM THE WORD: AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JESUS.)

Jehovah S Witnesses written by George D. Chryssides and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-12-05 with Philosophy categories.

From its origins in nineteenth century Adventism until the present day, the Watch Tower Society has become one of the best known but least understood new religious movements. Resisting the tendency to define the movement in terms of the negative, this volume offers an empathetic account of the Jehovah's Witnesses, without defending or seeking to refute their beliefs. George Chryssides critically examines the historical and theological bases of the organization's teachings and practices, and discusses the changes and continuities which have defined it. The book provides a valuable resource for scholars of new religious movements and contemporary religion.

In Divine Truth or Human Tradition? the author examines the viewpoints and Scripture expositions of prominent evangelical scholars and apologists; including popular author and debater Dr. James R. White (author of The Forgotten Trinity), John MacArthur (President of The Master's Seminary), Wayne Grudem (author of the widely-read Systematic Theology), Robert Bowman Jr. (author of Why You Should Believe in the Trinity), Robert Morey (Founder of California Biblical University and Seminary and author of The Trinity, Evidence and Issues), R. C. Sproul (President of Ligonier Ministries), Robert L. Reymond (author of Jesus, Divine Messiah and A New Systematic Theology of the Christian Faith), and others. According to what has long been considered mainstream Christian "orthodoxy," the doctrine of the Trinity (the idea that the one true God is-in the ultimate sense-a divine being made up of three co-equal and co-eternal persons) is not only central to the Christian faith, but absolutely necessary for one to accept in order to be counted as a true Christian and be saved. Such a demand on a Christian's faith has come across as strange and perplexing to many, especially so in light of the fact pointed out by one respected Trinitarian: "[The Trinity] is not clearly or explicitly taught anywhere in Scripture, yet it is widely regarded as a central doctrine, indispensable to the Christian faith. In this regard, it goes contrary to what is virtually an axiom [that is, a given, a self-evident truth] of biblical doctrine, namely, that there is a direct correlation between the scriptural clarity of a doctrine and its cruciality to the faith and life of the church." (Millard J. Erickson, God in ThreePersons, p. 11. Emphasis added) Understandably, this fact has raised questions in the minds of Christians and truth-seekers alike ever since the doctrine was first decreed as mandatory to confess in the late 4th century. Many Christians have wondered: How can a doctrine that is no

Homilies On The Psalms written by Origen and has been published by Catholic University of America Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-18 with Religion categories.

In 2012 Dr. Marina Marin Pradel, an archivist at the Bayerische Stattsbibliotek in Munich, discovered that a thick 12th-century Byzantine manuscript, Codex Monacensis Graecus 314, contained twenty-nine of Origen’s Homilies on the Psalms, hitherto considered lost. Lorenzo Perrone of the University of Bologna, an internationally respected scholar of Origen, vouched for the identification and immediately began work on the scholarly edition that appeared in 2015 as the thirteenth volume of Origen’s works in the distinguished Griechische Christlichen Schrifsteller series. In an introductory essay Perrone provided proof that the homilies are genuine and demonstrated that they are, astonishingly, his last known work. Live transcripts, these collection homilies constitute our largest collection of actual Christian preaching from the pre-Constantinian period. In these homilies, the final expression of his mature thought, Origen displays, more fully than elsewhere, his understanding of the church and of deification as the goal of Christian life. They also give precious insights into his understanding of the incarnation and of human nature. They are the earliest example of early Christian interpretation of the Psalms, works at the heart of Christian spirituality. Historians of biblical interpretation will find in them the largest body of Old Testament interpretation surviving in his own words, not filtered through ancient translations into Latin that often failed to convey his intense philological acumen. Among other things, they give us new insights into the life of a third-century Greco-Roman metropolis, into Christian/Jewish relations, and into Christian worship. This translation, using the GCS as its basis, seeks to convey, as faithfully as possible, Origen’s own categories of thought. An introduction and notes relate the homilies to the theology and principles of interpretation in Origen’s larger work and to that work’s intellectual context and legacy.
