Everyone has a specific garment that God has prepared for them to wear. From the begining of time God has ordained that his people would wear a special item of clothing. It would be unlike anything else worn in the whole of God's creation and was only to adorn those who belonged to him. The prophets would write about this garment, the psalmist would sing about it, and the patriarchs would wear it. Every book of the Bible has something to say about the garment of God. The garment will be worn by those who are anointed and favoured by God. It clothes priests and kings, servants and leaders. Brides and warriors are to be wrapped up in its protection and power. Jesus expects his people to wear these clothes. It is time for everyone to put on the garment of God.

Who Am I? In this journey called life, as women we have lost ourselves and no longer are we the women that God created us to be, instead we have become many things to fit the many situations in which we have found ourselves in. For some it’s been a way of escape, and for others it’s been a defense against the pain and concerns of the situation. But God wants to unclothe you of all those heavy garments and clothe you with himself. In other words, his desire is to set you free so that you can be who he has created you to be: a woman with a name, a woman with a God-given destiny, a woman with purpose awaiting you in and throughout your journey. So open up your heart as you turn through these pages, and allow God to set you free and reposition you in your place of complete abandonment to him as you find yourself in him.

At The Mercy Of Their Clothes written by Celia Marshik and has been published by Columbia University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-11-29 with Literary Criticism categories.

In much of modern fiction, it is the clothes that make the character. Garments embody personal and national histories. They convey wealth, status, aspiration, and morality (or a lack thereof). They suggest where characters have been and where they might be headed, as well as whether or not they are aware of their fate. At the Mercy of Their Clothes explores the agency of fashion in modern literature, its reflection of new relations between people and things, and its embodiment of a rapidly changing society confronted by war and cultural and economic upheaval. In some cases, people need garments to realize themselves. In other cases, the clothes control the person who wears them. Celia Marshik's study combines close readings of modernist and middlebrow works, a history of Britain in the early twentieth century, and the insights of thing theory. She focuses on four distinct categories of modern clothing: the evening gown, the mackintosh, the fancy dress costume, and secondhand attire. In their use of these clothes, we see authors negotiate shifting gender roles, weigh the value of individuality during national conflict, work through mortality, and depict changing class structures. Marshik's dynamic comparisons put Ulysses in conversation with Rebecca, Punch cartoons, articles in Vogue, and letters from consumers, illuminating opinions about specific garments and a widespread anxiety that people were no more than what they wore. Throughout her readings, Marshik emphasizes the persistent animation of clothing—and objectification of individuals—in early-twentieth-century literature and society. She argues that while artists and intellectuals celebrated the ability of modern individuals to remake themselves, a range of literary works and popular publications points to a lingering anxiety about how political, social, and economic conditions continued to constrain the individual.

Sizing In Clothing written by S Ashdown and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-04-11 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The basic concepts behind sizing systems currently used in the manufacture of ready-to-wear garments were originally developed in the 19th century. These systems are frequently based on outdated anthropometric data, they lack standard labelling, and they generally do not accommodate the wide variations of body sizes and proportions that exist in the population. However, major technological improvements have made new population data available worldwide, with the potential to affect the future of sizing in many ways. New developments in computer-aided design and sophisticated mathematical and statistical methods of categorizing different body shapes can also contribute to the development of more effective sizing systems. This important book provides a critical appreciation of the key technological and scientific developments in sizing and their application. The first chapter in the book discusses the history of sizing systems and how this has affected the mass production of ready-to-wear clothing. Chapters two and three review methods for constructing new and adapting existing sizing systems, and the standardisation of national and international sizing systems. Marketing and fit models are reviewed in chapter four whilst chapter five presents an analysis of the grading process used to create size sets. Chapters six and seven discuss fit and sizing strategies in relation to function, and the communication of sizing. Mass customization and a discussion of material properties and their affect on sizing are addressed in chapters eight and nine. Military sizing and the aesthetics of sizing are detailed in chapters ten and eleven. The final chapter reviews the impact on sizing of production systems and specifications. Written by an international team of contributors, this book is an essential reference to researchers, designers, students and manufacturers in the clothing and fashion industry.
