That sudden yearning you feel when you see a sunset. That pang of longing you sense deep in your bones when you attend a funeral or even gaze at a poignant piece of art. Those experiences that sting you to attention in moments of beauty, peace, or sorrow—the ones you can sense are offering you a twinkling, piercing hint of heaven: Are these meant to do more than point you to eternity? What if they could enable you to live more fully on the way there? Through personal reflections, evocative stories, and profound writing, author Amy Baik Lee offers This Homeward Ache, inviting you to remember the times you've been deeply moved by a glimpse, a spark, of something you know is beyond the visible present—moments that other cultures and times have called Sehnsucht, saudade, hiraeth, or galmang. In each spellbinding chapter, Amy traces her own brushes with this longing, unfolding her discovery that it is designed to enrich and alter every area of our lives: our valleys of pain, our relationships with other people, and ultimately our reception of the love of God. If you’ve ever wondered how to keep going in this world while holding on to the hope of the world to come, This Homeward Ache offers you courage, companionship, and a stirring sense of the scope of our journey home to Christ.

The much anticipated new novel - about how a family, and a rural community, recover from a terrible bushfire - from a stunning young Australian writer, Eliza Henry Jones. A year ago, a devastating bushfire ripped Annie's world apart - killing her grandmother, traumatising her young daughter and leaving her mother's home in the mountains half destroyed. Annie fled back to the city, but the mountain continues to haunt her. Now, drawn by a call for help from her uncle, she's going back to the place she loves most in the world, to try to heal herself, her marriage, her daughter and her mother. A heart-wrenching, tender and lovely novel about loss, grief and regeneration, Ache is not only a story of how we can be broken, but how we can put ourselves back together. Eliza Henry Jones' remarkable debut novel, In the Quiet, was shortlisted for the 2015 Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction, shortlisted for the NSW Premier's Award and longlisted for the ABIA and Indie Awards. PRAISE FOR ACHE 'Eliza Henry Jones' second novel demands that you slow down, take a breath and settle in ... Bookseller+Publisher PRAISE FOR IN THE QUIET 'Eliza Henry-Jones is a young author (only twenty five) and she writes with remarkable maturity... I fell in love with it slowly, over the course of many chapters. It's a quiet book (appropriately named) and an utterly lovely one' Readings 'Henry-Jones, in her debut novel, has structured a glorious book that will make you cry, guaranteed. But it's also uplifting and tender. A surprise find' Sydney Morning Herald 'You will weep, and marvel, and pass this book on, and on, to your friends' Nikki Gemmell

Worn Out Gloves written by Gary Stephenson and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-09 with Religion categories.

Without first asking our permission, the rules of life have changed. Things once familiar and dependable have been replaced by anxiety and an uncertain "new normal." In the middle of the storm, you find that your relationship with God has changed as well. Your once solid foundation of faith begins to show cracks as doubt and fear creep in; and you begin to wonder if God truly loves you at all. Is God faithful? Is he merciful? Does he keep his promises? Why is God so patient when I want him to answer my requests now? How glorious will it be when discovering this was God's purposeful path that leads to contentment? In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. (Proverbs 16:9) As a man coming into the prime of his remarkable career as a world-class golf course architect, Gary Stephenson's design for his work life was right where it should have been-multimillion-dollar projects on four continents, constant requests for new proposals, and associations with arguably the world's best golfer. But, in the blink of an eye, the financial crash of 2008 changed Gary's life forever. Worn-Out Gloves: A Journey to Contentment is a colorful and raw glimpse inside the mind of a man seeking to align God's purposes for his life with his own shattered dreams. The book, a series of short stories and events, explores Gary's learnings, humor, and hardships and the curation of a more meaningful, transparent faith and ultimate reliance on God and his promises.

Delphi Complete Poetical Works Of The Confederation Poets Illustrated written by Charles G. D. Roberts and has been published by Delphi Classics this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-08 with Poetry categories.

The Confederation Poets were a group of Canadian English-language poets of the late nineteenth century whose work expressed the national consciousness inspired by the Confederation of 1867. Their transcendental and romantic praise of the Canadian landscape would go on to dominate Canadian poetry until the twentieth century. They were also called the Maple Tree School due to how their verses portrayed a touching love for the Canadian landscape. The term ‘Confederation Poets’ was coined by the Canadian professor and literary critic Malcolm Ross, who singled out four poets: Charles G. D. Roberts (1860–1943); Bliss Carman (1861–1929); Archibald Lampman (1861–1899); and Duncan Campbell Scott (1862–1947). They composed poems in a classic form, often on themes of love or philosophical speculation against the backdrop of nature; and they all reacted to Canada’s growing industrialisation, favouring a retreat to the as yet unspoiled wilderness. This comprehensive volume of the Delphi Poets Series presents the complete poetical works of the four principal members of the Confederation Poets, with numerous illustrations and the usual Delphi bonus material.
