"God loves you, I love you and there is not a thing that you can do about it'' - Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Lewter Sometimes on cloudy days, we forget that the sun is still shining. The same is true in our lives when we find ourselves in despair as things just don't seem right. We forget that the Son is always shining down on us. So, as you read these poems, I hope they will encourage you and even make you smile. God inhabits our praise and He hears our prayers.

Encyclopedia Of Great Popular Song Recordings written by Steve Sullivan and has been published by Scarecrow Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-04 with Music categories.

From John Philip Sousa to Green Day, from Scott Joplin to Kanye West, from Stephen Foster to Coldplay, The Encyclopedia of Great Popular Song Recordings, Volumes 1 and 2 covers the vast scope of its subject with virtually unprecedented breadth and depth. Approximately 1,000 key song recordings from 1889 to the present are explored in full, unveiling the stories behind the songs, the recordings, the performers, and the songwriters. Beginning the journey in the era of Victorian parlor balladry, brass bands, and ragtime with the advent of the record industry, readers witness the birth of the blues and the dawn of jazz in the 1910s and the emergence of country music on record and the shift from acoustic to electrical recording in the 1920s. The odyssey continues through the Swing Era of the 1930s; rhythm & blues, bluegrass, and bebop in the 1940s; the rock & roll revolution of the 1950s; modern soul, the British invasion, and the folk-rock movement of the 1960s; and finally into the modern era through the musical streams of disco, punk, grunge, hip-hop, and contemporary dance-pop. Sullivan, however, also takes critical detours by extending the coverage to genres neglected in pop music histories, from ethnic and world music, the gospel recording of both black and white artists, and lesser-known traditional folk tunes that reach back hundreds of years. This book is ideal for anyone who truly loves popular music in all of its glorious variety, and anyone wishing to learn more about the roots of virtually all the music we hear today. Popular music fans, as well as scholars of recording history and technology and students of the intersections between music and cultural history will all find this book to be informative and interesting.

Brann S Revenge written by S. Smith and has been published by Gatekeeper Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-22 with Fiction categories.

This story is historical fiction about the city of Waco, Texas, Baylor University, and some of the Baptists and folks of the town during the latter years of the 19th Century. Most of the characters are loosely based on real people that lived at the time but are exaggerated and extrapolated to develop the story. Not everything was peaceful serenity in this small town located on the Brazos River on the cusp of the 20th Century. People held grudges and had axes to grind for real or perceived wrongdoings between such characters as William Cowper Brann a semi-famous local newspaper writer, the Carroll Brothers who ran the Baptist religion in the state, and the mayor of Waco, J.W. Riggins. Red, the primary narrator falls in love with Inez Brann, the daughter of William Cowper Brann, the city’s primary antagonist of the story. Red is heartbroken at their truncated relationship. As the story progresses, the history of the city including the devastating F5 tornado that struck the city in 1953, plays a critical part in a love story and quite possibly subsequent tragedies that have repeatedly struck the city over the years.

Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer. While playing the piano in churches for decades, Patty Ellis had become used to focusing on the music score, not the lyrics. Little did she know that years later, those sacred lines, like seeds destined to produce their bounty in an unknown future, would restore her soul, reawaken her faith, and leave her with a new measure of hope, joy and peace long missing from her life. In her newest book, Patty shares the miraculous, though completely unexpected, discovery she made while revisiting the poignant words of the revered hymns she had performed so many times throughout her life. While transporting others on a journey of renewal, Patty pairs the lyrics of classic hymns with Bible verses to uplift and inspire believers. Within these gems that have been all but erased from Christian worship lies timeless wisdom with the power to resurrect and reaffirm faith, hope, and truth. Let My Soul Look Up is a devotional that shares the profound inspiration found in the ageless wisdom of our beloved hymns.

Dylan can be as evasive and abstruse as he is witty; he can be cranky and sarcastic. But in the right moments, he offers candid, revealing commentary about his groundbreaking music and creative process. Dylan on Dylan is an authoritative, chronologically arranged anthology of interviews, speeches and press conferences, as well as excerpts from nearly a hundred additional Q&As spanning Dylan's entire career. The material comes from reknowned publications like Rolling Stone and from obscure periodicals like Minnesota Daily, a student newspaper at Dylan's alma mater. Interviewers include some of the top music journalists of our time, such as Robert Love and Mikal Gilmore, as well as musicians like Pete Seeger and Happy Traum. Introductions put each piece in context and, in many cases, include the interviewer's reminiscences about the encounter.

A Lesser Light To Rule The Night written by Noble L. Jones and has been published by Xulon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-03 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

A LESSER LIGHT TO RULE THE NIGHT A Lesser Light To Rule The Night is the first of many books of poetry forthcoming. In it, Noble sets out to explain, through poetry, how God made the sun, the great light to rule the day and how He made a lesser light to rule the night. It applies in our daily living when its day in our lives the sun shines so bright. In the darkest hour of night, God yet provides us with a lesser light. When Israel wondered in the wilderness, God went before them in a pillar of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Regardless of how hopeless situations seem, there is always an illumination of hope! The light of God's Word gives hope for all seasons. When in need of healing, deliverance, protection, guidance and strength, know it is always available! About the Author Noble Jones, a native of Pine Bluff, AR and an aspiring poet, who listens, writes and meditates on scriptures according to the Word of God. Shortly after graduating from high school, Noble made St. Louis, MO his home, where he attended a community college. There he met his wife of fourteen years, Yolanda and now has one child, Noble II. At an early age, God inspired Noble's poetry writing with His most Infamous Words of encouragement, spirituality, healing and holiness to give to His people destined to be set free and enter a new beginning!
