Janithma's first book, Thoughts of a Blossom, is a collection of 25 poems and 19 pieces of prose written at school and at home in the period from June 2010 to May 2014. Among these poems are her first poem written at the age of 51/2 years ('Sweet Dreams'), a poem for which she composed music too ('Of thee I sing') and a poem that gave her the opportunity to attend a Michael Rosen event in 2014 ('Mother Nature'). The prose collection includes her first story ('A Rainy Day'), a write up on her favourite book, an imaginary journey to the past ('A Visit to Ancient China in a Time Machine') and a book review on Why the Whales Came. Born in Sri Lanka in 2004, Janithma is studying in Year Four at Alexandra Junior School in London in July 2014. She is already thinking of the next step in her journey of writing...

Janithma's second book Little Garden of Thoughts is a collection of poetry and prose written from June 2014 to July 2015. Her first book Thoughts of a Blossom was published in 2014. The 33 writings in this book are arranged under eight categories: Unforgettable Experiences, Book Reviews, Stories, Discussions, Diary Entries, Descriptions, Poetry and Miscellaneous. The book starts with three unforgettable experiences, including a brief encounter in which author Michael Rosen asked Janithma to autograph her first book for him and a visit to Shakespeare Village. Among the other pieces are a review on a Malorie Blackman book, a short story on a secret, a discussion on whether children should wear uniforms, a diary entry on an imaginary balloon ride, a poem on Pompeii and a recipe for friendship! In July 2015 Janithma was studying in Year Five at Alexandra Primary School in London. She aims to promote reading and writing among children.
