DARK VALLEY .and Beyond is the story of a journey through traumatic grief. When the great love of her life was taken, deep grief was compounded by the testing of her faith. The very foundations of life seemed to be swept away. Yet the faithful Shepherd, though hidden for a time, held her through the storm, sent help when needed, and "restored her soul." This is a record of God's faithfulness "though I walk through the Valley of the shadow of death..." It is a record of pain and struggle leading to healing, hope and purpose. The author grew up in a small village nestled in a farming community. It was there, as a child, that she met God. After high-school she attended a Bible College where she came to know, respect, then to love a young man who also worshiped the Lord. She taught school for a short time, then they married and together raised four children. The relationship with her earthly love, shared for more than half a century, was recognized both by herself and others as uniquely precious, a gift from the very hand of God. When death tore them apart, grief struck like a tsunami; the storm of dark, excruciating anguish nearly destroyed her. But God, though for a time unseen in those shadows, held her close and brought her through-changed, still acutely aware of deep loss-but trusting the purpose of the Almighty, the deepest Love of her life.

When author Stella Ihuoma Nnanabu was in hospital, recovering from a serious illness and emergency surgery, she thought a great deal about her life and her profound relationship with God. As her health improved, so did her desire to share that faith with others. She wanted to convey a powerful conviction that those who truly believe are fighting a never-ending and spiritual war against the forces of evil. If there is a recurring theme in this book, it is this: By shielding ourselves with the armor of God, the terrible battle will be won. God will help even in the worst of circumstances, including the dark valley of death. Please email your comments and prayer requests to [email protected]

1311. Murder and mayhem prowl the highways and coffin paths of Medieval England . . . Hugh Corbett returns in the twentieth gripping mystery in Paul Doherty's ever-popular series. If you love the historical mysteries of C. J. Sansom, E. M. Powell and Bernard Cornwell you will love this. It is four years since the death of King Edward I, but his reign of terror has cast long shadows over the kingdom. At Holyrood Abbey, sheltered in the depths of the Welsh march, the old king's former bodyguards protect his secret relics and watch over a mysterious prisoner who is kept in the abbey's dungeon. But their peaceful existence is shattered when Abbot Henry is poisoned. Summoned to Holyrood, Sir Hugh Corbett, Keeper of the Secret Seal, finds the fortress in chaos. Brothers Anselm and Richard have been brutally slain by nails driven deep into their skulls. No one knows who could be behind the gruesome killings and the news attracts the attention of two unwanted guests: the sinister Marcher Lord Mortimer and King Philip of France's devious envoy De Craon. As more mysterious deaths occur, and a violent snow storm sweeps through the valley, Corbett must act quickly to identify the malevolent demon who has risen from hell to turn the abbey into a house of murder . . . Praise for Paul Doherty's dark and suspenseful novels: 'His fascination for history comes off the page' Daily Express 'An opulent banquet to satisfy the most murderous appetite' Northern Echo 'Deliciously suspenseful, gorgeously written and atmospheric' Historical Novels Review 'Paul Doherty has a lively sense of history . . . evocative and lyrical descriptions' New Statesmen

The Dark Valley written by Piers Brendon and has been published by Random House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-12 with Business & Economics categories.

Piers Brendon's magisterial overview of the 1930s is the story of the dark, dishonest decade - child of one world war and parent of the next - that determined the course of the twentieth century. Dealing individually with each of the period's great powers - the USA, Germany, Italy, France, Britain, Japan, Spain and Russia - Brendon takes us through the ten years dominated by the Great Depression and political turmoil. When Broadway, Piccadilly Circus, the Kurfurstendamm and the Ginza - neon metaphors of hope after four years of carnage - grew dim as the giants of unemployment, hardship, strife and fear took their hold. From the concentration camps of Dachau and Kolyma, the Ukraine famine and the American Dust Bowl, to the Moscow metro, the Empire State Building and the Paris Exposition, The Dark Valley brings the 1930's back to life through meticulous scholarship. Brendon examines the great leaders - Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao Tse-Tung, Haile Selassie and countless others - not with hindsight but in the context of their age; but also, through a vivid chronicling of contemporary experience, he gives us a sense of what it was to be living then.
