“It starts today. Your world is about to change.” Harley ignores the cryptic warning but soon learns the chilling message is absolutely true. When his motorcycle is stolen, he feels he’s lost the one thing that connects him to his dad—and keeps his dad’s memory alive. Harley believes he knows exactly who is responsible—and takes dangerously reckless steps to get his bike back. Parker will do almost anything to help his friend—which is exactly what has Jelly and Ella worried. Their efforts to change Harley’s self-destructive course simply haven’t worked. Now they have to find a way to stop him before he goes off the deep end . . . and takes Parker with him. Sometimes lies and deception are so believable that only God can reveal the truth. And every person has a push-point. Something that—if given enough pressure—has the power to send them someplace they never want to go. Off the deep end. The Deep End is the third book in the High Water series. It blends contemporary mystery and suspense, dramatic situations, and high adventure that 12- to 15-year-old boys and girls will love.

In a world that wants you to shrink, conform, and mute your weirdness, Unplug Yourself is your rebel handbook. They’re your superpowers. Inside this book, you’ll learn how to: Spot the Matrix’s traps (spoiler: it’s not just 9-to-5 jobs and influencer culture) Rewrite societal scripts with small acts of rebellion Build a life that feels like yours, not a cheap knockoff of someone else’s “success” Turn your “too muchness” into rocket fuel for joy, creativity, and meaningful life Packed with actionable “glitch tips,” and zero toxic positivity, this book is for: Burnout survivors ready to quit the hustle cult People pleasers dying to say “No, and here’s why” Creative minds tired of monetizing their magic Anyone who suspects there’s more to life than optimizing it Warning: This book may cause side effects, including existential epiphanies in the dairy aisle, and the irrepressible urge to live your life, not the algorithm’s. Astrophysical Radiation Hydrodynamics written by Karl-Heinz A. Winkler and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Science categories.

This NATO Advanced Research Workshop was devoted to the pre sentation, evaluation, and critical discussion of numerical methods in nonrelativistic and relativistic hydrodynamics, radia tive transfer, and radiation-coupled hydrodynamics. The unifying theme of the lectures was the successful application of these methods to challenging problems in astrophysics. The workshop was subdivided into 3 somewhat independent topics, each with their own subtheme. Under the heading radiation hydrodynamics were brought together context, theory, methodology, and application of radia tive transfer and radiation hydrodynamics in astrophysics. The intimate coupling between astronomy and radiation physics was underscored by examples from past and present research. Frame-dependence of both the equation of transfer (plus moments) and the underlying radiation quantities was discussed and clarified. Limiting regimes in radiation-coupled flow were identified and described; the dynamic diffusion regime received special emphasis. Numerical methods for continuum and line transfer equations in a given background were presented. Two examples of methods for computing dynamically coupled radia tion/matter fields were given. In l-d and assuming LTE the complete equations of radiation hydrodynamics can be solved with current computers. Such is not the case in 2- or 3-d, which were identified as target areas for research. The use of flux-limiters was vigorously discussed in this connection, and enlivened the meeting.

'The Destroyers is a smart, sophisticated literary thriller; for all its originality, it invokes the shades of Lawrence Durrell and Graham Greene' Jay McInerney, author of Bright, Precious Days When Charlie and I were young, we played a game called Destroyers . . . We were sharpening our instincts, jettisoning attachments. We were honing strategies for survival ... Ian Bledsoe is on the run, broke and humiliated, fleeing the emotional and financial fallout of his father's death. His childhood friend Charlie – rich, exuberant and basking in life on the Greek island of Patmos – is his last hope. At first, Patmos is like a dream – sun-soaked days on Charlie’s yacht and the reappearance of a girlfriend from Ian’s past – and Charlie readily offers the lifeline he desperately needs. But, like Charlie himself, this beautiful island conceals a darkness beneath. When he vanishes leaving behind his murky business affairs, Ian finds himself caught in a terrifying labyrinth of deceits. As boys, the pair played a game called Destroyers – a game, he now realizes, they may never have stopped playing. Expansive, vivid and suspenseful, in the vein of Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch, The Destroyers is a mesmerizing drama of power and fate, fathers and sons, self-invention and self-deception. 'Equal parts Graham Greene, Patricia Highsmith and F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Destroyers is at once lyrical and suspenseful, thoughtful and riveting' Garth Greenwell, author of What Belongs to You ‘The Destroyers manages to be both fast-paced and contemplative, an excellent entertainment and also something more lasting, a haunting meditation on friendship and desperation’ Guardian, Best Holiday Reads of 2017

J Dilla S Donuts written by Jordan Ferguson and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-04-24 with Music categories.

From a Los Angeles hospital bed, equipped with little more than a laptop and a stack of records, James “J Dilla” Yancey crafted a set of tracks that would forever change the way beatmakers viewed their artform. The songs on Donuts are not hip hop music as “hip hop music” is typically defined; they careen and crash into each other, in one moment noisy and abrasive, gorgeous and heartbreaking the next. The samples and melodies tell the story of a man coming to terms with his declining health, a final love letter to the family and friends he was leaving behind. As a prolific producer with a voracious appetite for the history and mechanics of the music he loved, J Dilla knew the records that went into constructing Donuts inside and out. He could have taken them all and made a much different, more accessible album. If the widely accepted view is that his final work is a record about dying, the question becomes why did he make this record about dying? Drawing from philosophy, critical theory and musicology, as well as Dilla's own musical catalogue, Jordan Ferguson shows that the contradictory, irascible and confrontational music found on Donuts is as much a result of an artist's declining health as it is an example of what scholars call “late style,” placing the album in a musical tradition that stretches back centuries.

Crystal Growth written by Yves Earhart and has been published by Publifye AS this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-03-10 with Science categories.

Crystal Growth explores the fascinating science behind crystal formation, a process vital to both natural phenomena and technological advancements. The book unveils how ordered crystal structures emerge from the chaos of solutions and melts, impacting everything from semiconductors to pharmaceuticals. It focuses on three core themes: nucleation, the initial seed formation; crystal growth mechanisms, detailing atom incorporation; and the influence of environmental factors like temperature and pressure. Understanding these principles allows for the controlled manipulation of crystal properties, essential in various applications. The book begins with crystallographic basics and thermodynamics, then builds upon nucleation and growth theories, incorporating both classical and modern views. It systematically progresses through solution, melt, and vapor growth techniques, detailing experimental setups and models. One intriguing insight is how impurities can significantly alter crystal properties, allowing for tailored material design. The book also highlights the connection between crystal growth and Earth sciences, illustrating how crystals form in geological settings. Crystal Growth takes a systematic and analytical approach, emphasizing fundamental principles over specific crystal types. By bridging chemistry, physics, materials science, and Earth sciences, it provides a comprehensive understanding of crystal formation. This knowledge is crucial for developing new electronic materials, catalysts, and drug formulations, making the book a valuable resource for students, researchers, and professionals alike.
