Stéphane Mosès explores in Displacements the poetry of Paul Celan and the work of major German-Jewish thinkers in the context of his distinction between normative and critical modernity. The first part contains a translation of his book Approches de Paul Celan, the third part a translation of his lecture series Figures philosophiques de la modernité juive, and the central section contains, alongside a text on Freud, essays on Goethe and Büchner that extend his analysis beyond the Jewish sphere while engaging with the questions of tradition and its fragmentation that he raises there. Edited, translated, and with an Introduction by Ashraf Noor.

The Routledge Handbook of the History and Sociology of Ideas establishes a new and comprehensive way of working in the history and sociology of ideas, in order to obviate several longstanding gaps that have prevented a fruitful interdisciplinary and international dialogues. Pushing global intellectual history forward, it uses methodological innovations in the history of concepts, gender history, imperial history, and history of normativity, many of which have emerged out of intellectual history in recent years, and it especially foregrounds the role of field theory for delimiting objects of study but also in studying transnational history and migration of persons and ideas. The chapters also explore how intellectual history crosses the study of particular domains: law, politics, economy, science, life sciences, social and human sciences, book history, literature, and emotions.

The research included in this book covers creative and production-aesthetic aspects of Paul Celan's poetry collections. They trace the author's process, from emergence of the first poetic idea to realization of the poetic message. The time and circumstances of the poems, their thematic consistency, titles, architectonics of collections (order of poems, their cyclization, configuration of poetic lines), as well as contacts with publishers, correspondence with editors, printing, and design of poetry books play an important role in this case. The dialogic principle immanent in Celan's poetry is realized here at the level of verbal, thematic, figurative, and structural "antiphons". In general, Celan's poetry collections form an intertextual chain, whose links are inseparably linked with each other.
