Dupla sertaneja formada por João Salvador Perez, o Tonico (São ManuelSP,em 02 de março de 1917) e José Perez, o Tinoco (nascido em uma fazenda de Botucatu - SP, que hoje pertence ao município de Pratânia, em 19 de novembro de 1920). Em 1930, quando a família Perez trabalhava na fazenda Tavares, em Botucatu, os dois irmãos ouviram discos da série caipira de Cornélio Pires; João frequentava a escola rural e dava lições para os colonos mais velhos.Dos amigos cobrava um litro de querosene por mês (para manter os lampiões da sala de aula), mas dificilmente recebia alguma ajuda. José,o mais levado, gostava de caçar passarinhos com arapucas(depois os soltava), de brincar com amigos do arraial e aos sábados vestia-se de coroinha para ajudar a celebração da Missa. Após a cerimônia acompanhava o Padre nas refeições, e voltava para casa levando alimento para os irmãos. O gosto pela cantoria veio dos avós maternos Olegário e Izabel, que alegravam a colônia com suas canções, ao som de uma antiga sanfona. A primeira música que aprenderam foi Tristeza do Jéca em 1925. Em 15 de agosto de 1935 fizeram a primeira apresentação profissional. Cantaram na Festa da Aparecidinha/São Manuel, em uma quermesse. Junto com o primo Miguel, formavam o Trio da Roça .
