En los toros, como en la vida, son m�s los perdedores que los triunfadores� (Y casi siempre, los primeros poseen dos orejas y un rabo y no han expresado su consentimiento a participar en una lucha tan desigual). Se impone explicar un aspecto de esta obra en el pase�llo introductorio. El autor es cubano de primera generaci�n de espa�oles. Su posici�n en contra de la crueldad de las corridas, y los sufrimientos derivados de la ya cr�nica ausencia de libertad en la �ltima de las colonias espa�olas en el Nuevo Mundo, convierten este libro en doblemente pol�mico. La tauromaquia y el castrismo parecen ser t�picos sagrados en muchos pa�ses. Sobre ellos se imprimen escasos libros de contenido cr�tico. Para ayudar a llenar ese vac�o, les ofrezco uno que contiene ambos.
