A good spiritual foundation is absolutely essential in this day and age, when the Christian thinking and beliefs are all over the park. Now the fundamentals of Christianity are laid out in an easy to follow collection of study sessions in Jane Harber's Walking Toward the Light. Using Biblical references, Jane answers many questions in clear and simple language that will appeal to new and old Christians alike. You will learn the basics of faith, such as: • Who Jesus Is • God's Love for You! • God's Power ... Grace Through Faith • Making It Real These crucial studies prove to be stimulating and revitalizing, and their life-changing principles will help stabilize Christian foundational beliefs. Begin your journey through the most profound experience of life, and start Walking Toward the Light. 'You have done some great work here. As an evangelist, I am always looking for good material to put into the hands of those who make a decision to follow Jesus. Some of the things we see are either too complicated or too biased. Some are great for young people but too juvenile for adults. Yours, however, is just like Baby Bear's portage., 'just right.' I'm sure this will be a very useable tool for people who want to help others move onward with the Lord. Thank you for this wonderful resource. Mike Warnke, Evangelist & Christian Comedian 'This work should not be confused with a denominational handbook. Jane has done a good job of keeping free from sectarian or theological bias. The book is Scripture study from start to finish. I am convinced that Walking Toward the Light will become a standard textbook for many churches to use in newcomers class, Sunday school, discipleship programs, or regular Bible study groups.' New Directions Towards Christian Renewal written by Kenneth Bragan and has been published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-12 with categories.

Kenneth Bragan believes Christianity is approaching a time of change, one that is under pressure from changing world views. The religion is changing from a largely belief-based faith to one that is more experience-based. “I present Thomas Merton as an exemplar of the latter and Laurence Freeman as an advocate of meditative Christianity, which increases in importance as it receives support from developments in neuroscience. These new directions may well bring much needed renewal,” he states. The retired psychiatrist wrote New Directions Towards Christian Renewal because he feels that Christianity is no longer doing what it has the potential to do. “This latter mode, that of natural spirituality (standing in contradistinction to supernatural spirituality), is the very future of a Christianity that engages with exegesis and matters of faith without the myopia of literalism, instead allowing for the allegorical and poetic dimensions of scripture to rush forward unfettered by the limitations of historical inexactitudes taken as dogma. Kenneth Bragan brilliantly and persuasively sets forth this new paradigm with rigorous scholarship, biblical analysis, and the passion of the faithful. New Directions Towards Christian Renewal is a remarkable and inspiring work, a piece that is both radically insightful and undoubtedly trailblazing.” – Charles Asher, reviewer

Toward Decentering the New Testament is the first introductory text to the New Testament written by an African American woman biblical scholar and an Asian-American male biblical scholar. This text privileges the voices, scholarship, and concerns of minoritized nonwhite peoples and communities. It is written from the perspectives of minoritized voices. The first few chapters cover issues such as biblical interpretation, immigration, Roman slavery, intersectionality, and other topics. Questions raised throughout the text focus readers on relevant contemporary issues and encourage critical reflection and dialogue between student-teachers and teacher-students.

Are the secular foundations of international relations sustainable at present? This comprehensive study shows how the global resurgence of religion confronts international relations theory with a theoretical challenge comparable to that raised by the end of the Cold War or the emergence of globalization. The volume tries to shake the secular foundational myths of the discipline and outline the need for an expansion into religiously inspired spheres of thought. It also challenges the most condemning accusation against religion: the view that the politicization of religion is always a threat to security and inimical to the resolution of conflict. Finally, the task of demystifying religion is taken further with an argument for a stronger and "progressive" political engagement of the worldwide religious traditions in the contemporary globalized era.

The Future Of Christian Mission In India written by Augustine Kanjamala and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-21 with Religion categories.

Colonial missionaries, both Catholic and Protestant, arrived in India with the grandiose vision of converting the pagans because, like St. Peter (Acts 4:12) and most of the church fathers, they honestly believed that there is no salvation outside the church (extra ecclesiam nulla salus). At the end of the "great Protestant century," however, Christians made up less than 3 percent of the population in India, and the hope of the missionary was nearly shattered. But if one looks at mission in India qualitatively rather than quantitatively, one sees a number of positive outcomes. Missionaries in India, particularly Protestant missionaries espousing the social gospel, in collaboration with a few British evangelical administrators, dared to challenge numerous social evils and even began to eradicate them. The scientific and liberal English education began to enlighten and transform the Indian mindset. Converts belonging to the upper caste, although small in number, laid the foundation stone of Indian theology and an inculturated church using Indian genius. The end of colonialism in India coincided with the painful death of colonial mission theology. Now, the power of the Word of God, extricated from political power, is slowly and peacefully gaining ground, like the mustard seed of the parable. A paradigm shift from the ecclesio-centric mission to missio Dei offers reason for further optimism. In short, the future of mission in India is as bright as the kingdom of God. In today's new context, theologians, despite objections from some quarters, are struggling to discover the Asian face of Jesus, disfigured by the Greco-Roman Church. And the missionary is challenged to become a living Bible that, undoubtedly, everyone will read.
