Sobreviene como en respuesta a una falta de elaboración del cuerpo pulsional, ligada a una insuficiencia de la función simbólica. Esta paradójica operación viene a constituir una tentativa de anular un corte que es constitutivo del ser hablante. Y una condición fundamental para que se sostenga una operación del farmakon parece ser que algo se haya constituido como un “intolerable” que no pueda ser asumido dentro de una realidad simbólica.
