In the heart of the desert is a city of skyscrapers and unbelievable wealth, but beneath its glossy surface lies the misery of sex trafficking, violence and ruined lives. A brutal world Elena willingly enters to rescue her daughter, placing herself in jeopardy and risking everything for a mother's love. Kristina travels thousands of miles for the job of her dreams, only to find that she has been betrayed. Trapped and forced to work as a prostitute; under constant fear of a brutal assault from Ponytail Ari, a vicious man employed to keep the girls in line, she finds herself alone, lost and helpless in this strange land. When all official enquiries to find Kristina come to nought, her mother, Elena, who has borrowed money beyond her means to send Kristina out, determines to find her and ends up in the hands of the traffickers herself. Nikki, a hardened con artist and streetwise prostitute arrives in Almina to start a new life and make money. She befriends Elena and together they take on the traffickers with consequences neither expected or were prepared for...... The book is a work of fiction but is based on real stories. Whilst the people, places, companies, cities and countries are all figments of the author's imagination the events are all true and have happened to someone somewhere. Human Trafficking is said to be the second biggest International crime after the drugs trade and has an annual value of 31.6 billion US Dollars. An International Labour Organization report states that 2.5 million people are victims of human trafficking each year with 1.4 million of these being for sexual purposes. These victims are mostly women. To put this into perspective, it is equivalent to the entire female population of Albania or Jamaica being forced or coerced to leave and made to work overseas as prostitutes - each and every year.

"In her bestselling book Slave Girl, Sarah Forsyth told of her terrible ordeal as a young woman sex-trafficked from England to the Red Light District of Amsterdam - and of her dramatic escape from forced prostitution. But Sarah's journey from the dark back into light was far from over. Still addicted to drugs and drink, she struggled to cope with life, with love and with the marriage she desperately hoped would bring her happiness. It would take three more long and painful years to be rid of the terrible after-effects of sex slavery. But as she fought her draining battle to survive, Sarah came to realise that there was something she needed to do. It was a decision that would take her back into the modern scandal of sex trafficking - and back into the hell of Amsterdam's Red Light District. Now Sarah tells the incredible story of her very personal mental journey to find goodness within herself - and the shocking and painful physical journey to find the sex slaves she left behind. Both are journeys which will take all the strength, courage and love that she has. But if she is to survive, they are journeys she must make."--Back cover.

As seen on The Today Show When she was fifteen years old, Leslie King ran away from an abusive home, looking for a better life and longing for real love. What she found instead was a man who wooed her just long enough to trap her in a life of prostitution. She became one of the many thousands of trafficked individuals in the United States, a number that continues to rise—in the biggest cities and in the most idyllic towns. As is true for so many in similar situations, life was nothing but brokenness and pain for Leslie. After years of hopelessness, she finally decided to take her own life. And then God spoke. With his promise that he was with her and had mighty things for her to accomplish ringing in her ears, she got off the streets, got clean, and got to work on the mission to which he'd called her. Now Leslie is a passionate and heroic advocate for other trafficked women and teenage girls in her community and across the country. More than a gritty, no-holds-barred deliverance story, When Angels Fight includes powerful advice from Leslie and those she's encountered in her work—police officers, judges, and other advocates and activists. She also shows you what YOU can do to make a real difference in your own community. Her call from God includes marshaling others to the cause and equipping them to fight alongside her and the angels who battle for God's children—just as they once fought for her.

"This book is written in the name of all theinnocent children (truly angels) mistreatedby sex-traffickers; they could not express forthemselves their anger, and cries for help."-- Ngo Tinh YenEvery day, countless children in Southeast Asia practice prostitution. Some do so out of poverty, others are abducted by traffickers and sold as sex slaves, others are sold to brothels by their own parents. This book is intended to raise awareness about these abused children, and encourage readers to help however they can. Ngo Tinh Yen has spent many years volunteering for non-profit organizations which fight against sex trafficking and child prostitution. In 2009, she journeyed to Southeast Asia, to visit the suffering children and learn more about the organizations which help protect and care for them. "Angels In Hell" chronicles her journey across Vietnam and Cambodia. She describes the places she visited, the suffering she witnessed, and recounts stories from former sex slaves. She also reflects on the heroic anti-trafficking efforts made by non-profit organizations, and on the extraordinary courage former victims show as they fight to overcome their traumas, live normal lives, and help prevent others from suffering as they suffered:"Please save the victims of human trafficking at any time you can help. If you do not help, we, the victims, will die at the hands of criminal trafficking. I say so because I had set foot on the dead from Cambodia. I stand before you now. I grew up amidst the violence, hatred and pain. I still fight because I will add strength to come to those who are abused, as I was."-- Sina Vann Nguyen Thi Bich
