A l'ère de la transition digitale (qui en accompagne d'autres), les technologies numériques peuvent apporter des solutions, des appuis, des outils dits "intelligents" qui sont en mesure de remplacer l'humain dans l'accompagnement de ces personnes - toujours singulières - en situation de handicap, de vulnérabilité et/ou de fragilité. Ainsi, cet ouvrage collectif s'adresse-t-il en priorité aux professionnels, étudiants et décideurs du travail social : un champ en perpétuelle mutation où se concentrent encore autant de souffrances que d'espoirs dans les formes élémentaires de relation à l'autre différent. Il contribuera aussi à éclairer celles et ceux - aidants, bénévoles, familles, usagers - qui souhaitent que cette transition digitale ne soit pas qu'une marchandisation d'un progrès technologique et/ou une injonction aux usages de divers dispositifs, plateformes ou objets connectés face aux enjeux d'une société où le déferlement d'innovations nous surpasse à l'instar de sa novlangue en "tion" (application, datafication, dématérialisation, digitalisation, e-réputation, gamification, géolocalisation, robotisation, siliconisation, start-upnation, uberisation...). Seul constat possible à ce jour dans ce foisonnement hors du "commun" que nous offre le numérique et sur lequel s'accordent les contributeurs (acteurs de terrain, chercheurs, personnes en situation de handicap) dans ce livre : il nous faut encore mesurer sinon négocier les usages dans cette transition qui va modifier en profondeur notre conception et/ou représentation de la solidarité, d'une commune humanité, dans une société qui, plus que jamais sans doute, en réclame davantage et qui ne peut tout miser sur des réalités virtuelles et/ou augmentées comme sur des consciences et/ou des intelligences artificielles.
