«Per leggere le poesie di Trasumanar e organizzar occorre prima di tutto molta pazienza: un lettore di poesia novecentesca è abituato a versi brevi e a componimenti brevissimi. In secondo luogo, come quando si leggono le avventure marinaresche del capitano Achab, non si debbono saltare le pagine dedicate alla marineria: come esse sono la gabbia che sostiene la tragedia, così il discorso (o il discorrere) di Pasolini, veloce, privo di trapassi sublimi, mai ellittico, è sempre, o quasi sempre, la lenta e necessaria preparazione al senso che egli vuole dopotutto rendere esplicito. Pasolini, a differenza dei poeti della sua generazione, e di quella precedente, per non parlare di quelli venuti dopo di lui, non ha mai paura dell’esplicito. Si può essere sicuri che ogni sua poesia vuole, essendo antipoetica, dire qualcosa di assolutamente poetico, cioè di assolutamente vero, della verità che gli scaturiva dalla vita fin lì vissuta, vissuta quel giorno, vissuta un minuto prima. In terzo luogo, si può (si deve) lasciare a sé stessi il piacere d’essere abbagliati, non si deve temere di mostrare lo stupore, ci si può liberamente compiacere per quelle parole nuove (che non troviamo neppure nei vocabolari), per quei titoli senza precedenti, per quei pazzi argomenti che i più giovani tra i lettori non sanno proprio cosa siano.» (dalla Prefazione di Franco Cordelli).
