El Tratado se estructura en cuatro partes bien diferenciadas: la primera dedicada a una teoría general – si es que eso existe en el Derecho internacional privado-, en la que aborda el objeto, método y fuentes (tal y como rezaban las antiguas Memorias de Cátedra); la segunda dedicada al derecho de la nacionalidad y la extranjería; la tercera al derecho procesal internacional; y la cuarta al derecho civil internacional siguiendo la sistemática del Código Civil. Todo ello precedido por una Introducción, en absoluto baladí, ya que en ella se abordan sus presupuestos básicos. (...) No pretendo en esta reseña afrontar todas las reflexiones que suscita esta obra, labor por otro lado imposible, sólo resaltar que son excelentes los capítulos relativos a la nacionalidad y a la extranjería, temas en los que el autor es un experto desde hace mucho tiempo, al igual que los relativos al derecho procesal internacional. En todos ellos, y en los que se ocupa del derecho civil internacional no sólo el estudioso, sino también el alumno, adquirirán los conocimientos de una manera ordenada y fácil. (...)
