Abdulillah Polat untersucht Prozesse der Identitätsfindung und der Suche nach Anerkennung von Jugendlichen in Flüchtlingsfamilien. Dabei stellt er die Frage nach den Auswirkungen traumatischer Erlebnisse der Eltern auf die Sozialisation der nachfolgenden Generation. In seiner empirischen Untersuchung am Beispiel kurdischer Familien in Deutschland verwendet der Autor die Methode der biografischen Fallrekonstruktion, um die vielfältigen und intergenerationalen Auswirkungen von Traumata und beobachtete Bewältigungsmöglichkeiten darzustellen. Die Sozialisationsbedingungen der porträtierten Jugendlichen werden durch die frühe Übernahme von Verantwortung für die psychisch hoch belastete Familie erschwert, hinzu kommen soziale Benachteiligungen. Für die Betroffenen bestehen somit schon im Jugendalter hohe Anforderungen, die oft zu Überforderung führen.

This book examines the ways in which German authors have used the child's perspective to present the Third Reich. It considers how children at this time were brought up and educated to accept unquestioningly National Socialist ideology, and thus questions the possibility of a traditional naive perspective on these events. Authors as diverse as Günter Grass, Siegfried Lenz, and Christa Wolf, together with many less well-known writers, have all used this perspective, and this raises the question as to why it is such a popular means of confronting the enormity of the Third Reich. This study asks whether this perspective is an evasive strategy, a means of gaining new insights into the period, or a means of discovering a new language which had not been tainted by Nazism. This raises and addresses issues central to a post-war aesthetic in German writing.

Das Ziel der Hausarbeit ist es, die verschiedenen Risikofaktoren und Ereignisse aufzuführen, wodurch ein Kind traumatisiert werden kann und welche Auswirkung dies auf deren Sozialisation hat. Zunächst wird der Begriff Trauma definiert. In Kapitel 3 werden die Auswirkungen von traumatisierten Eltern auf ihre Kinder dargestellt und in Kapitel 4 die verschiedenen Risikofaktoren, die zu Trauma bei Kindern führen können und welche Folgen Trauma hat. Anschließend werden die Probleme in der Sozialisation analysiert. Daraufhin wird die Rolle der Pädagogik und ihre Arbeit als Intervention aufgelistet. In Kapitel 6 wird das Trauma der Flüchtlingskinder thematisiert, wie diese zustande kommen und wie man am besten die Sozialisierung angeht. Die Arbeit endet mit einem Fazit. 2018 hat das deutsche Jugendamt bei rund 50400 Kindern und Jugendlichen eine Kindeswohlgefährdung gemeldet (Statistisches Bundesamt, 2019). Und das sind nur die offiziell gemeldeten Fälle. Viele Kinder leiden unter dem traumatisierenden Missbrauch der Familie und den Langzeitfolgen. Die seelischen Wunden, die durch das Trauma entstehen sind verheerend und schränken die Opfer sozial und emotional ihr ganzes Leben lang ein. Trauma in Familien kann allerdings nicht nur durch Missbrauch, sondern durch verschiedene Ereignisse entstehen.

Eingliederungsklassen besucht haben in Regelklassen miteinsteigen. Sucht man im Internet beispielsweise nach „Flüchtlingskindern in deutschen Schulen“, so stößt man fast ausschließlich auf Ergebnisse, die sich mit der Überforderung der Lehrkräfte, der Unterbesetzung oder dem Mangel an klaren Konzepten befassen. Auf die Kinder selbst, ihre Probleme, Sorgen und Ängste wird, wie es scheint, nur wenig eingegangen. Dabei sollten doch gerade diese im Mittelpunkt stehen, denn um sie und ihre ganzheitliche Eingliederung geht es schließlich. Sollte also nicht dem Wohlergehen der Kinder mehr Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt werden, von welchem aus Folgeproblematiken behandelt werden können? Was hat Priorität? Eine möglichst rasche Eingliederung und Bildung für die Kinder, oder aber zunächst eine Behandlung, um den Traumata der Kinder entgegenzuwirken und ihnen dabei zu helfen diese – soweit möglich – zu überwinden oder zumindest damit zurecht zu kommen. Als angehender Lehrer stellt sich für mich persönlich die Frage, wie durch einen guten pädagogischen Umgang mit Flüchtlingskindern & Jugendlichen die traumatischen Erlebnisse, die wir uns durch fehlende persönliche Erfahrungen kaum vorstellen können, im Schulalltag verarbeitet werden können. Die Schule ist mitunter der wichtigste Ort, der sich um diese Aufgabe kümmern kann oder vielleicht sogar muss. Eltern betroffener Kinder (sofern diese noch leben bzw. mit nach Deutschland geflüchtet sind), sind oft selbst überfordert, traumatisiert und haben zu wenig Zeit und Kraft, ihren Kindern die nötige Unterstützung bieten zu können. In der Schule sind Flüchtlinge in einer großen Gemeinschaft, die offen für sie sein und sich ihren Problemen annehmen sollte. Diese Arbeit zeigt Möglichkeiten auf, wie Pädagogen an Schulen Flüchtlingskindern bei der Verarbeitung ihrer traumatischen Erfahrungen unterstützen können.

This book examines the relationship between representations of the body and narrative strategies in the work of three contemporary women writers from the former Eastern Bloc countries: Herta Müller, an ethnic German from Romania; Libuše Moníková, who emigrated from Czechoslovakia to West Germany and chose to write in German; and Kerstin Hensel, from the GDR. Marven shows how the content and form of their works are interlinked, and how these challenge the hegemonic discourses within repressive socialist regimes. The introduction contextualizes the writers' socially, culturally, and historically, and outlines the theoretical basis of the approach, drawing on psychoanalysis, performativity theory, and feminist critical theory. Chapters on the individual authors offer new interpretations of the writers' works, focusing on the structures of trauma (in Müller's work), hysteria (in Moníková's) and the grotesque (in Hensel's). The images of the body analysed in the first half of each chapter show the effects of violence; challenge the understanding of the body as natural or authentic; and raise questions about identity and gender. The analysis in the second half of each chapter covers a range of formal features, from the fantastic and collage, through parody and intertextuality, to irony, plot, and story telling. The book also traces developments in the work of all three authors, taking account of the historical changes in the Eastern Bloc countries since 1989. Body and Narrative in Contemporary Literatures in German will be valuable for anyone researching contemporary German literatures, as well as those interested in feminist theory, minority literatures, and trauma.
