Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Drama - Theater - Medien), Veranstaltung: Patrick Roth und David Lynch, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: [...] Von David Lynch waren mir am Anfang nur die Filme Blue Velvet2 und Lost Highway3 bekannt, ihr surrealer, verwirrender Moment und die Alogik der Erzählweise faszinierten mich. Das scheinbar Unfassbare greifbar machen, stellte sich als Herausforderung. Patrick Roths Literatur zum Vergleich war mir unbekannt. So ist es wohl auch nicht verwunderlich, dass ich erst mit dem Lesen der Lektüre Rückschlüsse zu David Lynchs Filmen ziehen konnte und ihre Gemeinsamkeiten entdeckte. Da es für den Vergleich dieser zwei Medien keine gemeinsame theoretische Grundlage gibt, werde ich dieser Arbeit keinen theoretischen Vorspann beifügen, sondern die Theorie in der Anwendung erklären. Ich möchte von dem kleinsten gemeinsamen Motiv ausgehen, dass Patrick Roth in seiner Frankfurter Poetikvorlesung darlegt: das Wiedererkennen. Daraus ergeben sich weitere Faktoren wie die Wandlung, der Augenblick und die Doppelung, die zur Lesbarkeit und dem Verständnis von David Lynchs Mulholland Drive4 und Patrick Roths Starlite Terrace5 beitragen bzw. es erweitern. Der Einstieg über eine Szenenanalyse beschreibt ebenso meine Herangehensweise. Die Arbeit am Text bzw. Film stand im Vordergrund, von da aus habe ich auf die Theorie reflektiert. Die umgekehrte Herangehensweise führte in Sackgassen. Daraus ergab sich, dass der folgende Text als ein Fließtext geschrieben ist. Die Überschriften sind rechtsbündig und dienen lediglich als Verweise.
