Der sover alle fortsatt, og Jon og Sofus lager slottet om til en attraksjon for turister og bruker tryllestaven flittig. Bøkene er preget av frodig fantasi og språklig lek og fabulering. De er fulle av sanger, rim, ramser ogeventyr. Forfatteren bruker en bevisst layout, dvs. hun endrer bokstavenes grafiske bilde til å visualisere teksten. Enkle strektegninger følger teksten og er til dels innvevd i den. Så lager han en port inn til en eventyr- verden, og der hender det mye. Der er det et troll som heter Komle, og en konge som heter Per den slemme, og mere til.
