"T'was the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring-not even a mouse." This timeless poem is so well known to children and so often recited by adults it is virtually a part of our common heritage. Written on Christmas Eve in 1822-in a horse-drawn sleigh with jingling bells according to legend-it evokes the excitement and good cheer of Christmas Eve like no other work of American literature. Paired with Thomas Nast's drawings of St. Nicholas, from which we derive the classic image of Santa Claus, this lovely edition may well become the quintessential American Christmas book for children of all ages.

Meet little baby Jesus in the town of Bethlehem. It was on a chilly cold night that a star shines bright over the town of Bethlehem. Joseph and Mary search diligently for a room for the night. Come and follow baby Jesus through his life, death, burial, and resurrection in "Twas the Night of Christ," the new children's book by Michael Vandeburg, as baby Jesus teaches you about the true story of Christmas. Profound and heartfelt colorful illustrations capture the real meaning of Christmas in a way that has never been told before! This real story will wash away the fake story about Santa Clause. Take a walk down the narrow path with Jesus Christ leading you. Extremely moving colorful pictures highlight the entire journey of Jesus Christ, including a glimpse of Jesus surrounded in the heavens with angels. There has never been a children's book so moving and important for spreading the gospel to every new generation and old generation. Grandparents and parents will be thrilled to share the true story about baby Jesus each and every Christmas. Michael writes, "Christ walked to His death as hell barked like a hound, Filling our hearts with joy, to the grave He is bound! And laying His life aside for His chosen found, Giving a nod from Father above, then gave up without a sound." Perfect for families and children of all ages, "Twas the Night of Christmas" is an eye-opening derivative of the original poem "Twas the Night before Christmas." After reading this new story, Santa Clause will be gone forever and ever. "Thank you for the opportunity to edit 'Twas the Night of Christ.' Your poem is a sweet homage to not only the birth of Christ but also to a well-loved traditional poem. I am sure your poem will be well received by its readers and may even become a classic in itself." -Ellen Peixoto, editor for AuthorHouse

Twas the Night Before Jesus was Born is a story of the birth of Christ inspired by the timeless classic, Twas the Night Before Christmas (Moore). Much like today, during the time of Jesuss birth, the world was in chaos. People were immoral and doing their own thing, but Gods children prayed and anxiously awaited the birth of their promised King. Year after year, believers waited in anticipation for the miracle birth but so did the evil King Herod. Although the evil King Herod plotted to kill all newborn males in hopes of killing the promised king, his efforts were futile. God, in his infinite wisdom, had already plotted an escape route for Joseph, Mary, and the baby. Jesus miraculously survived the killing field of King Herod, and he grew from a child to a man. He transformed the lives of ordinary people and made them do extraordinary things. Many recognized him as being the Son of God by the signs, wonders, and miracles he performed and they followed him. He gave sight to those who were blind, baptized those who believed in him, healed those who were sick, preached to those who needed to hear the truth, forgave those who needed to be forgiven, and delivered those who were bound by the chains of sin. Before Jesus was taken up into heaven, he gave all of those who followed him the power to transform lives, heal the sick, preach the truth and free those who are bound by sin. He told them they would do greater works than he didif only they would be willing to work.

"Although the title would indicate a Christmas story, your child will not only enjoy reading about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, but will follow His life through teaching in the temple, inspiring the gospels, feeding the five thousand, healing the sick, raising the dead and sharing His love" --

Amid the many celebrations last Christmas Eve, in various places by different persons, there was one, in New York City, not like any other anywhere. A company of men, women, and children went together just after the evening service in their church, and, standing around the tomb of the author of "A Visit from St. Nicholas," recited together the words of the poem which we all know so well and love so dearly. Dr. Clement C. Moore, who wrote the poem, never expected that he would be remembered by it. If he expected to be famous at all as a writer, he thought it would be because of the Hebrew Dictionary that he wrote. He was born in a house near Chelsea Square, New York City, in 1781; and he lived there all his life. It was a great big house, with fireplaces in it;—just the house to be living in on Christmas Eve. Dr. Moore had children. He liked writing poetry for them even more than he liked writing a Hebrew Dictionary. He wrote a whole book of poems for them. One year he wrote this poem, which we usually call "'Twas the Night before Christmas," to give to his children for a Christmas present. They read it just after they had hung up their stockings before one of the big fireplaces in their house. Afterward, they learned it, and sometimes recited it, just as other children learn it and recite it now. It was printed in a newspaper. Then a magazine printed it, and after a time it was printed in the school readers. Later it was printed by itself, with pictures. Then it was translated into German, French, and many other languages. It was even made into "Braille"; which is the raised printing that blind children read with their fingers. But never has it been given to us in so attractive a form as in this book. It has happened that almost all the children in the world know this poem. How few of them know any Hebrew! Every Christmas Eve the young men studying to be ministers at the General Theological Seminary, New York City, put a holly wreath around Dr.

A Visit from St. Nicholas, more commonly known as The Night Before Christmas and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas from its first line, is a poem first published anonymously in 1823 and later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who claimed authorship in 1837. The poem has been called "arguably the best-known verses ever written by an American" and is largely responsible for some of the conceptions of Santa Claus from the mid-nineteenth century to today. It has had a massive effect on the history of Christmas gift-giving. Before the poem gained wide popularity, American ideas had varied considerably about Saint Nicholas and other Christmastide visitors. A Visit from St. Nicholas eventually was set to music and has been recorded by many artists.
