Este livro tem por objetivo analisar o funcionamento das determinações históricas subjetivas que constituem discursos sobre as práticas histórico-sociais na contemporaneidade, atravessadas pelo movimento da conexão. Para tal, toma como materialidade de análise vídeos de humor do grupo denominado "Porta dos fundos", publicados na plataforma Youtube.com, entre os anos de 2014 e 2015. Através da observação de gestos de leitura produzidos pelo/no discurso humorístico, depreendemos modos históricos de significação de sujeitos e práticas. Modos que deixam ver uma imbricação entre sujeito, celular e conexão, no qual o sujeito em suas práticas é significado no e a partir do movimento da conexão. Nessa constituição contemporânea, o caráter de incompletude dos rituais, marcado pela heterogeneidade das práticas histórico-sociais que os constituem, é posto em pauta na leitura heterogênea produzida pelo discurso do humor. Com bases nas compreensões obtidas, promove-se uma discussão sobre a questão da relação ideológica entre sujeito, objetos e o que se nomeia de tecnologia, a qual propomos tomar como uma instância ideológica direcionadora de práticas, que funciona por meio de seus objetos. Discute-se, portanto, o que uma análise discursiva tem a dizer sobre a constituição contemporânea de formas históricas de existência, sobre a conexão e sobre os objetos que a possibilitam. Isto é, este livro se propõe a pensar no que estamos fazendo aqui, hoje.
