Inhaltsangabe:Zusammenfassung: Die alte Feuerwache an der Bernhard-Ernst-Straße in Münster ist im Jahre 1929 errichtet und 1980 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt worden. Die alte Feuerwache ist seit 1980 ein eingetragenes Baudenkmal und für die Region ein wichtiges zeithistorisches Wahrzeichen. Der Innenhof verfügt über große Parkplatzfläche. Das Gebäude ist 52 m lang, 24 m breit und 17 m hoch. Der ehemalige Schlauchturm ist 22 m hoch. Die alte Feuerwache bekommt nun eine ganz neue Funktion. Drei der vorhandenen vier Geschosse sollen für exklusive Wohnungen, sogenannte Lofts, vorbehalten werden. Lofts zeichnen sich durch eine offene, großzügige Raumgestaltung aus, sowie durch edle und exklusive Materialwahl der Baustoffe. Diese extravagante Art von Wohnungen befindet sich meistens in alten, nicht mehr genutzten Industrie- und Fabrikhallen. Es wird versucht, die räumliche Großzügigkeit leerstehender Werksgebäude mit der zeitgemäßen Wohnqualität zu verbinden. Es ist an dieser Stelle hinzuweisen, dass für dieses Erbauungsjahr (1926) einige wichtige Merkmale zu beachten sind, die eine gewünschte Grundrissveränderung verhindern bzw. im großen Maße beeinflussen. Die konstruktive Eigenart der Feuerwache erfordert jeweils spezifische Dämmmaßnahmen. Aufgrund der durch die Dämmmaßnahmen vielfach bewirkten Veränderungen des Erscheinungsbildes und der Konstruktion des Baudenkmals können die für die Neubauten geltenden Anforderungen in aller Regel nur eingeschränkt erfüllt werden. Von den Anforderungen der für Neubauten geltenden Energieeinsparverordnung 2002 können Denkmaleigentümer daher befreit werden. Es ist für den Eigentümer sinnvoll zu prüfen, inwieweit der finanzielle Aufwand den zukünftigen Nutzen der Dämmmaßnahme, auch unter Berücksichtigung einer eventuellen Beeinträchtigung des Denkmals, kompensiert oder gar übersteigt. In seiner Geschichte kann ein Baudenkmal die vielfältigsten Veränderungen erfahren. Die Nutzung und eine neue Grundrissvorstellung entsprechen mitunter nicht mehr den heutigen Vorstellungen von Wohnen und Arbeiten. Nutzungsänderungen und Modernisierungen ziehen häufig größere Veränderungen am Baudenkmal, etwa Grundrissänderungen nach sich. Auch in diesen Fällen gelten die Grundsätze der Denkmalpflege, nämlich den Charakter und die historische Aussagefähigkeit des Denkmals weitgehend zu erhalten.
