AKAD Fachhochschule Stuttgart, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Globalisierung und der dadurch noch größer gewordene Wettbewerb auf dem Markt, stellen Unternehmen ständig vor neue Herausforderungen. Durch den erhöhten Konkurrenzdruck sind die Unternehmen gezwungen, Innovationen hervorzubringen, um den langfristigen Erfolg der Firma zu sichern. Den Grundstein für langfristigen Erfolg legen die Unternehmen schon in der Produktentwicklung. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Strategie für das Unternehmen 3 in dem Planspiel im Bereich der Forschung und Entwicklung darzustellen. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf der Nachhaltigkeit, wobei nur auf nachhaltige Produktentwicklung eingegangen wird, da sonst der Rahmen dieses Assignments gesprengt wird. Früher wurde für den unternehmerischen Erfolg lediglich die ökonomische Komponente betrachtet, dies hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten aber gewandelt. In Zeiten von Erderwärmung, Ressourcenknappheit und steigenden CO2 Werten ist die Ökologie immer weiter in den Fokus gerückt. Dieser Effekt hat auch großen Einfluss auf die Produktentwicklung der Unternehmen, denn die Kundschaft ist sensibler geworden und bevorzugt Produkte, die nachhaltig hergestellt werden. Dies wird dadurch deutlich, dass Menschen durch die spürbare Erderwärmung und die zunehmenden Wetterkatastrophen der letzten Jahre, angefangen haben „grüner“ zu denken. Mehr vegetarische und vegane Lebensmittel, Bio-Label auf Lebensmitteln, Elektroautos, Car-Sharing-Konzepte, nachhaltige Fleischproduktion und gerechte Tierhaltung, Diskussion zum Verbot von Plastiktüten – in all diesen Bereichen müssen die Unternehmen reagieren, denn die Befriedigung der Nachfrage am Markt bestimmt über nachhaltigen Erfolg eines Unternehmens. Dabei reicht es nicht aus, seine Produkte in biologisch abbaubaren Verpackungen zu präsentieren. Es geht vielmehr um die nachhaltige Entwicklung aus ökologischer, ökonomischer und sozialer Sicht: Eine von der Beschaffung bis zur Auslieferung nachhaltige Produktforschung, -entwicklung und -fertigung. Denn nur diese nachhaltige Entwicklung kann den negativen Geschehen der letzten Jahrhunderte entgegenwirken und das eigene Fortbestehen des Unternehmens sicherstellen.

Die Bereiche Lager und Personal werden jedoch aufgrund der eingeschränkten Seitenanzahl innerhalb dieser Arbeit nicht thematisiert, dafür wird der Fokus auf den Bereich des Einkaufs gesetzt. Für das strategische Vorgehen war es Unternehmen U3 besonders wichtig, einen hohen Nachhaltigkeitsindex zu erreichen. Die Wahl des richtigen Lieferanten hat auf diesen einen hohen Einfluss, weshalb der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit auf der Lieferantenauswahl liegt. Für ein grundlegendes Verständnis werden im Grundlagenkapitel zunächst die Begrifflichkeiten Beschaffung und Einkauf voneinander abgegrenzt sowie die der Einkaufs- und Lieferantenstrategie erläutert. Außerdem werden die Phasen der Lieferantenauswahl ausführlich aufgezeigt. Zusätzlich werden die drei Dimensionen der Nachhaltigkeit erläutert. Im Anschluss wird beschrieben, welche Strategie im Bereich des Einkaufs mit Schwerpunkt auf die Lieferantenauswahl und welche Methode dafür gewählt wurde. Nachfolgend wird dargestellt, inwiefern sich die ausgewählte Strategie auf den Unternehmenserfolg ausgewirkt hat und welche Erkenntnisse daraus abgeleitet werden können.

DB's international business environment is analysed through the application of PEST Analysis and Porters 5 Forces frameworks. Analysis of DB's international strategy includes evaluation of DB's strategic positioning and orientation, entry strategy and finally measuring strategic performance. The latter is achieved by applying the Balance Scorecard Concept together with the features of SWOT Analysis, finally resulting in several recommendations for improvement of DB's international operations. The applied business theories and concepts are critically examined in the course of their adoption. The major finding of the report is that although the highly competitive industrial environment and global financial crisis, DB's strategic management has: achieved good results in positioning DB as a leader in universal banking in Europe as well as around the world; low efficiency and low profitability relative to its main competitors; suffered high share value losses due to the financial crisis as well as its own failures in risk management, but remained stable and credible backed by its strong global franchise. Given that, DB has a strong potential to learn from the crisis, improve its former failures and come out stronger from this crisis.
