While on vacation as young teenagers, they had a frightening experience of encountering smugglers while camping on an uninhabited island off the Florida coast. Two of these smugglers were also counterfeiters and were forced by Nazis to aid their cause. As fate would have it, the two Jews who were forced to counterfeit American currency became friends of the Fearless Five and together they were active in establishing the formation of the State of Israel. They experienced danger on many fronts, and despite their active lives, they found time for friendship and romance.
