The range of subjects covered is impressive - stretching from support for dictators worldwide, arms trade, the drug trade, destabilization of democratic governments and the response to international treaty obligations. etc. Religious bigots who object to Darwin in schools, to abolition of death penalty and to gun control laws, those who fire-bomb abortion clinics or go on a rampage because a jury acquits or convicts a person of a particular skin colour find their place. The American judiciary, which has had its dark moments ranging from the infamous Dred Scot Case to Florida Election, also finds its share. The author has called the book a "wake-up-call" for Americans.
