A common approach to understanding the functional repertoire of a genome is through functional genomics. With systems biology burgeoning, bioinformatics has grown to a larger extent for plant genomes where several applications in the form of protein-protein interactions (PPI) are used to predict the function of proteins. With plant genes evolutionarily conserved, the science of bioinformatics in agriculture has caught interest with myriad of applications taken from bench side to in silico studies. A multitude of technologies in the form of gene analysis, biochemical pathways and molecular techniques have been exploited to an extent that they consume less time and have been cost-effective to use. As genomes are being sequenced, there is an increased amount of expression data being generated from time to time matching the need to link the expression profiles and phenotypic variation to the underlying genomic variation. This would allow us to identify candidate genes and understand the molecular basis/phenotypic variation of traits. While many bioinformatics methods like expression and whole genome sequence data of organisms in biological databases have been used in plants, we felt a common reference showcasing the reviews for such analysis is wanting. We envisage that this dearth would be facilitated in the form of this Springer book on Agricultural Bioinformatics. We thank all the authors and the publishers Springer, Germany for providing us an opportunity to review the bioinformatics works that the authors have carried in the recent past and hope the readers would find this book attention grabbing.

Healthcare Information Management Systems, Third edition, will be a comprehensive volume addressing the technical, organizational, and management issues confronted by healthcare professionals in the selection, implementation, and management of healthcare information systems. With contributions from experts in the field, this book focuses on topics such as strategic planning, turning a plan into reality, implementation, patient-centered technologies, privacy, the new culture of patient safety, and the future of technologies in progress. With the addition of 28 new chapters, the Third Edition is also richly peppered with case studies of implementation, both in the United States and abroad. The case studies are evidence that information technology can be implemented efficiently to yield results, yet they do not overlook pitfalls, hurdles, and other challenges that are encountered. Designed for use by physicians, nurses, nursing and medical directors, department heads, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, COOs, and healthcare informaticians, the book aims to be a indispensible reference.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 10th International IFIP WG 8.9 Working Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems, CONFENIS 2016, held in Vienna, Austria, in December 2016. The conference provided an international forum for the broader IFIP community to discuss the latest research findings in the area of EIS and specifically aimed at facilitating the exchange of ideas and advances on all aspects and developments of EIS. The 25 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 63 submissions. They were organized in topical sections on: semantic concepts and open data; customer relationship management; security and privacy issues; advanced manufacturing and management aspects; business intelligence and big data; decision support in EIS; and EIS-practices.

Physics, maths and chemistry have long played a dominant role in electronics, electrical, and other allied engineering sciences. However, wholesale implementation of life science concepts in electro-chemistry or nano-technology is relatively recent. "A guide to research in electro-biochemical technology" aims at documenting state-of-the-art research, new developments, and directions for future investigation in the field of bio-physics, electro-biochemistry and nano-biotechnology. The book will guide the electrical, electronics and allied engineering branches to initiate the biology or biotechnology projects. The book also contains basic information about establishing electro-biochemical laboratory. This book is an outgrowth of the 10th Workshop of Physical Chemists and Electrochemists, which was held in Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. The workshop was dedicated to gain new knowledge of the physical, biophysical chemistry, electrochemistry and materials chemistry, which were enriched by the initial experience from nano-science and nano-materials. The book is divided into three sections. First section is dedicated for understanding the terminology used in the research articles (This section will help biologist to understand electro-terminology and electrochemists to understand bio-terminology). The next section contains 57 peer reviewed manuscripts on the topics of spectroscopy, electrochemistry, nanobiotechnology, chromat ography, environmental studies and protein & nucleotides. The last section contains information about the list of equipments required for executing electro-biochemical research projects.
