Cheyenne is a Victorian Cowgirl, a shapeshifter, and a dragon. She and her wingmate traveled from another universe to Alberta. Her Spirit Lord assigned her to another student, but this time there's a twist. Her recruit, Chance Cordell, suffers from 'latent dragonism.'The rawhide cowboy doesn't even know there's a hidden creature lurking in his soul. Cheyenne's job is to guide him through the transformation and teach him the way of a winged warrior. The devastating beauty is furious. It has been four hundred years, and she still hasn't met her lifemate. Worst of all, Fate has given her a human cattle rancher. Chance Cordell isn't the least bit interested in becoming a dragon or learning Cheyenne's teachings. The first time they met, her fuchsia dragon almost crushed his skull. The second time, the burlesque gunslinger tried to fill him with lead. The third time, they met in an inferno. The rawhide cowboy marched forward with guns blazing and shot the hell out of the dragon-winged beauty. She cut twelve bullets out of the air and looked hurt when he called her the Mistress of Death. Cheyenne had to redeem their relationship. She met him at a saloon and pleaded to start over. Chance watched her change from a harlot gunslinger to a sweetheart. Darn his chivalrous butt. He was a softie for a woman in need. The cowboy hired her for cattle drives and bank protection. Chey didn't let him down. When he turned dragon, the woman watched him burst into flames and sink to the bottom of a lake. Through it all, she was there. When the dragon tried to turn human, it didn't work. He became a huge Berserker, a fifteen-foot winged giant, who lived to destroy dark armies. He didn't want any part of dragon magic, and now, he stood at the Caldera Battlefield. His goal was to destroy a High Lord and break the spell. Without the help of Cheyenne, he didn't have a prayer. Would she forgive him? Suddenly, the sassy beauty had become his last chance.

Claire Holbrook is an equine veterinarian, standing on the brink of a huge promotion. She performs horse surgery, hydrotherapy, and rehabilitation for sport horses. Her mentor, Doc Somerville, promised to promote her, but there's one hitch. Before she can assume leadership, the lady vet needs to address her past. Recently, she missed a cardio diagnosis and failed to order medical supplies. Distracted by a lingering curse, the red-haired beauty must patch things up with her iron-willed father, Bart Holbrook. The one cowboy in her corner happens to be a llama rancher and former SEAL, but he has some strange notions about relationships. She never thought Beau Ladue, a llama outfitter, and special ops man, would assemble a parent closure team, give her confidence in steer roping, or help her train affectionate llamas. The gorgeous Frenchman came to her defense and flattened a drug-crazed criminal. The lady vet delivered baby cria and trained a cross country llama team. When she rejected Beau's marriage proposal due to infertility, the expert breeder vowed to use the Broodmare Method to get her pregnant. Faced with a once in a lifetime opportunity, she went along for the ride. Captain Beau Ladue served two tours in the Middle East and came home to run the llama ranch. He leased pack llamas and sold guard llamas. After seven years, he secured his parent's retirement and was at a crossroads. His sister, Blaire, made him promise to end his pursuit of divorcees and vow to open his heart to the next decent woman. Into his life walked Claire Holbrook, a tall red-head with a specialty in equine medicine. The problem was, she wouldn't marry him unless he found a way to end her infertility streak. Never challenge a Frenchman when it comes to conception. Would she walk down the aisle, or was he fated to be the lone llama cowboy?

A History Of Experimental Film And Video written by A.L. Rees and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-25 with Performing Arts categories.

Avant-garde film is almost indefinable. It is in a constant state of change and redefinition. In his highly-acclaimed history of experimental film, A.L. Rees tracks the movement of the film avant-garde between the cinema and modern art (with its postmodern coda). But he also reconstitutes the film avant-garde as an independent form of art practice with its own internal logic and aesthetic discourse. In this revised and updated edition, Rees introduces experimental film and video to new readers interested in the wider cinema, as well as offering a guide to enthusiasts of avant-garde film and new media arts. Ranging from Cézanne and Dada, via Cocteau, Brakhage and Le Grice, to the new wave of British film and video artists from the 1990s to the present day, this expansive study situates avant-garde film between the cinema and the gallery, with many links to sonic as well as visual arts. The new edition includes a review of current scholarship in avant-garde film history and includes updated reading and viewing lists. It also features a new introduction and concluding chapter, which assess the rise of video projection in the gallery since the millennium, and describe new work by the latest generation of experimental film-makers. The new edition is richly illustrated with images of the art works discussed.

Female Masculinity written by Judith Halberstam and has been published by Duke University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Literary Criticism categories.

Masculinity without men. In Female Masculinity Judith Halberstam takes aim at the protected status of male masculinity and shows that female masculinity has offered a distinct alternative to it for well over two hundred years. Providing the first full-length study on this subject, Halberstam catalogs the diversity of gender expressions among masculine women from nineteenth-century pre-lesbian practices to contemporary drag king performances. Through detailed textual readings as well as empirical research, Halberstam uncovers a hidden history of female masculinities while arguing for a more nuanced understanding of gender categories that would incorporate rather than pathologize them. She rereads Anne Lister's diaries and Radclyffe Hall's The Well of Loneliness as foundational assertions of female masculine identity. She considers the enigma of the stone butch and the politics surrounding butch/femme roles within lesbian communities. She also explores issues of transsexuality among "transgender dykes"--lesbians who pass as men--and female-to-male transsexuals who may find the label of "lesbian" a temporary refuge. Halberstam also tackles such topics as women and boxing, butches in Hollywood and independent cinema, and the phenomenon of male impersonators. Female Masculinity signals a new understanding of masculine behaviors and identities, and a new direction in interdisciplinary queer scholarship. Illustrated with nearly forty photographs, including portraits, film stills, and drag king performance shots, this book provides an extensive record of the wide range of female masculinities. And as Halberstam clearly demonstrates, female masculinity is not some bad imitation of virility, but a lively and dramatic staging of hybrid and minority genders.

Agatha Johnson is a terrified tomboy who hides beneath floorboards, hoping to survive a gang of outlaws. She and her mother Tatyana eke out an existence, milking an old dairy cow and cultivating a tattered vegetable garden. Aggie's nerves are frayed beyond repair, and she can't sleep or plan a future. Her one magic skill is to turn completely invisible and to will herself into non-existence. When she hears an unfamiliar voice, a soft-footed cowboy offers an invitation, "Thirty-four gunslingers are coming to kill you. If you want to live, meet me in the homestead, and we'll find a way out."Aggie never thought a red poncho cowboy, Decker Amherst, would supply the answer to her prayers. The giant dragon warrior believed that she was a gifted fae seer. Since he didn't know fae magic, Decker offered her dragon wizardry. With mere hours before the outlaws arrived, she accepted his offer. Little Agatha transformed into a magic-laden gunslinger, and there was going to be payback. The frightened prey had become a dangerous fighter, laden with lightning reflexes and the awakened bloodline of an Ancient Fae Princess. If the outlaws thought they had an easy victim, better think again. Decker ran for mayor in the small town of Dubois, Alberta. After the townsfolk heard that he and Agatha eliminated the cattle baron, the cowboy was the prime candidate to beat Carter Ralston. The railroad engineer threatened to reduce Dubois to a one-horse town. After the couple convinced the citizens that a silent partner would stop Ralston, they left the podium. When they rounded the corner, a Gatling gun drilled two hundred rounds per minute into Agatha's chest. Aggie turned dragon just in time, but would it be enough to withstand the barrage? Was Decker going to lose his lifemate? Would Aggie's dragon lock talons and become his forever girl? Hard to say.

The Literature Of Waste written by S. Morrison and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-06-03 with Literary Criticism categories.

Tracing material and metaphoric waste through the Western canon, ranging from Beowulf to Samuel Beckett, Susan Signe Morrison disrupts traditional perceptions of waste to better understand how we theorize, manage, and are implicated in what is discarded and seen as garbage. Engaging a wide range of disciplines, Morrison addresses how the materiality of waste has been sedimented into a variety of toxic metaphors. If scholars can read waste as possessing dynamic agency, how might that change the ethics of refuse-ing and ostracizing wasted humans? A major contribution to the growing field of Waste Studies, this comparative and theoretically innovative book confronts the reader with the ethical urgency present in waste literature itself.

Why Fairy Tales Stick written by Jack Zipes and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-09-13 with Literary Criticism categories.

In his latest book, fairy tales expert Jack Zipes explores the question of why some fairy tales "work" and others don't, why the fairy tale is uniquely capable of getting under the skin of culture and staying there. Why, in other words, fairy tales "stick." Long an advocate of the fairy tale as a serious genre with wide social and cultural ramifications, Jack Zipes here makes his strongest case for the idea of the fairy tale not just as a collection of stories for children but a profoundly important genre. Why Fairy Tales Stick contains two chapters on the history and theory of the genre, followed by case studies of famous tales (including Cinderella, Snow White, and Bluebeard), followed by a summary chapter on the problematic nature of traditional storytelling in the twenty-first century.

What truly influences our decisions in today’s message-cluttered world? In Buyology, Martin Lindstrom presents the astonishing findings from his groundbreaking three-year, seven-million-dollar neuromarketing study—a cutting-edge experiment that peered inside the brains of 2,000 volunteers from all around the world as they encountered various ads, logos, commercials, brands, and products. His startling results shatter much of what we have long believed about what captures our interest—and drives us to buy. Among the questions he explores: • Does sex actually sell? • Does subliminal advertising still surround us? • Can “cool” brands trigger our mating instincts? • Can our other senses—smell, touch, and sound—be aroused when we see a product? Buyology is a fascinating and shocking journey into the mind of today's consumer that will captivate anyone who's been seduced—or turned off—by marketers' relentless attempts to win our loyalty, our money, and our minds.
