Concebe a violência contra as mulheres como uma das espécies da violência de gênero e parte de um processo mais amplo de opressão, exploração e de subordinação a que estas são vítimas em praticamente todas as esferas da vida social, descortinada por uma luta protagonizada por um coletivo de mulheres e feministas que, há muito, clamam por seu combate. A partir dos referenciais inscritos no materialismo histórico dialético e no racionalismo aberto crítico, apropria-se da Lei no 11.340/2006 e sua sistemática procedimental e instrumentos diferenciados para a prevenção e a repressão daquela forma de violência, bem como dos regramentos legais cabíveis ao Ministério Público, a fim de dar conta da atuação deste último no município de São Luís/MA no período de 2006 a 2013.
