If you were free to want what you truly want, without shame or judgement, what would that look like? And more importantly, what would that feel like? Many of us have been taught to distrust our desire. To question our growth, and tune out our deepest wants and needs in favor of "hustling" towards the finish line at any cost. But too often when we reach that finish line, we discover we don't want it any more, or that it was never our desire in the first place. What if you weren't in conflict with the energy of your own expansion? What if you were free to feel, to dream, to want deeply, every single day? As a coach and course creator, and a lifetime of being a Type A overachiever, Geeta Nadkarni has learned to own her vision and live it fully. By trusting her desires and opening up to receiving her deepest wants, she discovered new pathways and manifestations she'd never imagined. In this book, you'll discover practices and nuggets of truth that have the power to transform the way you desire, dream, and receive... all in less than 15 minutes a day. From Geeta's desk: Beloved Reader, Three years ago, I had this crazy vision on a beach in the Dominican. It was 5am and I had snuck out of our hotel room to meditate before the craziness of family vacay began for the day. For the record, it wasn't this idyllic Insta-worthy scene with the wind in my hair; it was hot, windless, and I was being devoured by mosquitos. But I sat there, entranced, because I saw something... In my vision, I saw this gorgeous retail space with seven wishing well fountains. Each well was carved copper and around the rim was the theme of the well written in hundreds of languages. One well was the "love" well, another received wishes for "healing," a third for "abundance" and so on. People came into our store and threw coins into the fountains and made their wishes. We, as a company, collected up that money and donated it to a nonprofit that represented the specific energy of the fountain. As I stood there in my vision, surveying what I had made possible, hearing the hypnotic "shhhh" of the water in the fountains, I felt this sense of expansion and purpose. It wasn't an emotion - more a sensation in my body. A feeling of rightness that's hard to describe. And every penny of the profits from this book - the money you threw into that well as you wished your wish - is going to Operation Underground Railroad. It's a nonprofit whose mission is to end human trafficking, and thus restore hope to the mostly women and children who are sold, abused, and exploited worldwide. I am living my vision today, three years after having physualized it, and it came to me in this unexpected form - a book instead of a retail space. This is what I most want to teach you - to receive what you truly want even if it shows up in a form you didn't know to wish for. To recognize what you receive as a stepping stone to your ultimate vision and to nourish yourself with the work so you have the staying power to go all the way. I acknowledge that the fullness of my vision - that retail space - has yet to manifest. And it took me three years to figure out a stepping stone version of the "become the funnel" facet of the vision. It is my hope that the book you currently hold will expand your understanding of what's available to you and give you simple, practical, usable tools to bring what you most deeply desire to life. Will you get this book (and the podcast and bonus resources we've created for you) into the hands of as many people as possible so we can save more lives via O.U.R. and expand more lives via this work? xoxo Geeta

When You Can T Believe Your Eyes written by Hannah Fairbairn and has been published by Charles C Thomas Publisher this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-05 with Education categories.

This book was first projected in 2004, when Author Hannah Fairbairn was teaching interpersonal skills at the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton, Massachusetts. The experiences of her adult students—and her own experience of sight lost—convinced her that everyone losing vision needs access to good information about the process of adjustment to losing sight and practical ways to use assertive speech. When You Can’t Believe Your Eyes is intended for anyone going through vision loss, their friends, and families. It will inform readers how to get expert professional help, face the trauma of loss, and navigate the world using speech more than sight. Each of the twelve chapters in the book contain many short sections and bullet-point lists, intended to facilitate access to the right information. It begins where you begin—at the doctor’s office or the hospital. Since vision loss takes many forms, there are suggestions for questions you might ask to get a clear diagnosis and the best treatment. Part One also has a description of legal blindness and possible prevention, advice about your job, and tips for life at home. Part Two is about believing in yourself as you deal with the loss, the anger, and the fear before you come up for air and consider training. Parts Three and Four describe using assertive speech and action in all kinds of settings as your independence and confidence increase. Part Five gives detailed information about everything from dating, and caring for babies to senior living, volunteering, and retaining your job. It is hoped that by reading and trying out the suggestions, the reader will recover full confidence, become a positive, assertive communicator, and lead a satisfying life. Because vision loss happens mostly in older years, the book is written with seniors particularly in mind. Professionals will also find it to be a useful resource for their patients.

Rocket Dreams written by Marina Benjamin and has been published by Arrow this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-08-04 with Astronautics categories.

From the first landings on the moon to the implications of our cyber worlds, this unusual and intriguing book takes a provocative look at our fascination with space. Rocket Dreams is a fast-moving, fact-filled study of how all the dreams that went in to moonflight in the '60s have found new homes and mutated into new fascination with space. It is about our unquenchable desire to reach out to other worlds, physical and imaginative. From the Apollo astronauts to the military origins of the internet, and the whole phenomenon of 'virtual communities', it reveals how the ideals and longings pinned on cyberspace have evolved directly from those of the space age. Space dreams have been transformed into screen dreams, but the longing for communication with 'the other' lies at the heart of both.

Somewhere between global and local, the nation still lingers as a concept. National art histories continue to be written – some for the first time – while innovative methods and practices redraw the boundaries of these imagined communities. Narratives Unfolding considers the mobility of ideas, transnationalism, and entangled histories in essays that define new ways to see national art in ever-changing nations. Examining works that were designed to reclaim or rethink issues of territory and dispossession, home and exile, contributors to this volume demonstrate that the writing of national art histories is a vital project for intergenerational exchange of knowledge and its visual formations. Essays showcase revealing moments of modern and contemporary art history in Canada, Egypt, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel/Palestine, Romania, Scotland, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, paying particular attention to the agency of institutions such as archives, art galleries, milestone exhibitions, and artist retreats. Old and emergent art cities, including Cairo, Dubai, New York, and Vancouver, are also examined in light of avant-gardism, cosmopolitanism, and migration. Narratives Unfolding is both a survey of current art historical approaches and their connection to the source: art-making and art experience happening somewhere.

Eye Of Desire written by Catherine Rebecca Consandine and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with categories.

This research paper investigates the language of desire and its relationship to my sculptural practice. My studio research has been engaged in sculptural outcomes through video, performance and objects; core to this, is the relationship between vision and desire. My paper charts the evolution of this and how I consider these factors when making art. My process stems from my engagement with the metaphor of the eye and of how I see, the condition of a tactile gaze as analogous to desire. My studio research - videos, manufactured work, performance - has been a personal pursuit in an attempt to understand both the intervention within a gallery setting and to uncover my personal motivations for why I create the work that I do. The thesis charts the evolution of my process into the body and performance and its reclamation through manipulated video loops. These interventions act as spatial engagement with landscape and body, explored through a number of strategies using the eye as the mechanical and metaphoric device.
