I believe that about 2% of people setting on the pews are truly Christian and are at peace. The other 98% are lost and have good intentions and want to be but fall short because they do not live as Jesus Christ lived or the way he told us to live. God took on flesh, walked on the dirt he created to show us the way. If you are not at peace and struggle from day to day or would like a relation ship with God, with Jesus Christ, read this book, check it out. What do you have to lose?Controlling our thoughts and noticing what you are thinking is the hardest thing to do. I am my worst enemy doing my will on how i was taught to and cope with life's experiences and how I see them from living in the world and being OF the world. I found that letting go of self and doing Gods will Is a big part of breaking the the chains had me bound.Lets look at how to live life the way God told us to live to become one in him. Living in the world but not being of it, not living our lives the way the world lives. A way to get in touch with a divine power that dwells in all of us being an aware of it or how to connect to it. Lets step outside the religious box and soar above the-glass ceiling the religious place us under. We listen to mans way of getting there when he doesn't know how he got there, if he is even there himself.

We humans have the world that is tangible, physical, and carnal. We also have the spirit, which is thought, mind, and soul. What do the world and spirit have to do with the past, present, and future? The world (flesh) and spirit are always fighting against each other in our minds, fighting for the Word in a battle to control our thoughts. This book is not about the author, but it did come through the author from God. The God’s New Covenant brought forth a new concept of living, a new belief and a new thought process that invites us to live in His presence. The author wants you to know that if God could use him to come into the world, he can use anyone—even you.

Jesus spent more than thirty years in an alien culture, surrounded by harsh voices, isolated from affirming words. Did he sometimes wonder if he could make a difference, if he could finish the difficult work he'd come to do? Sometimes he felt so alone, but three timeswhen the pressure was heavyJesus received exactly what he needed to carry on: The audible words of his Father–an inspiring, loving, life-giving voice from Home. You are my child; I love you. You are mine; I have chosen you. I will glorify my name through you. These words, spoken out loud by God the Father to Christ the Son, infused his earthly mission with incalculable power, and the world was changed forever. These same words are also meant for every believer, every co-heir with Jesus today. Listen! They can change your life, too! In a world of alienation, aggression, and pain, A Voice from Home is a powerful and moving exploration of the message our Heavenly Father longs for each one of his children to hear and embrace: words of soul-affirming identity, of life-consuming purpose, of self-surrendering promise. Hear and be transformed by this remarkable message from the God of the universe, lovingly spoken to you today.

Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano has described U.S. and Latin American culture as continually hobbled by amnesia—unable, or unwilling, to remember the influence of mestizos and indigenous populations. In Mestizos Come Home! author Robert Con Davis-Undiano documents the great awakening of Mexican American and Latino culture since the 1960s that has challenged this omission in collective memory. He maps a new awareness of the United States as intrinsically connected to the broader context of the Americas. At once native and new to the American Southwest, Mexican Americans have “come home” in a profound sense: they have reasserted their right to claim that land and U.S. culture as their own. Mestizos Come Home! explores key areas of change that Mexican Americans have brought to the United States. These areas include the recognition of mestizo identity, especially its historical development across the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; the re-emergence of indigenous relationships to land; and the promotion of Mesoamerican conceptions of the human body. Clarifying and bridging critical gaps in cultural history, Davis-Undiano considers important artifacts from the past and present, connecting the casta (caste) paintings of eighteenth-century Mexico to modern-day artists including John Valadez, Alma López, and Luis A. Jiménez Jr. He also examines such community celebrations as Day of the Dead, Cinco de Mayo, and lowrider car culture as examples of mestizo influence on mainstream American culture. Woven throughout is the search for meaning and understanding of mestizo identity. A large-scale landmark account of Mexican American culture, Mestizos Come Home! shows that mestizos are essential to U.S. national culture. As an argument for social justice and a renewal of America’s democratic ideals, this book marks a historic cultural homecoming.

In the decades following World War I, the American South was the locus of a starburst of creative activity, the Southern Literary Renascence. Paradoxically, the same South that produced much of the greatest American literature of this century has also long had one of the worst literacy rates in the country. But the recent adult literacy movement is making important inroads, and many of the South's nonreaders—with the help of literacy projects springing up throughout the region—are now learning to read. As reward and encouragement, why not put these newly literate adults in touch with the acclaimed storytelling art of their region? This is the idea behind Home Voices, an anthology selected especially for adult new readers. The literacy students and tutors who served as editorial advisors for Home Voices demanded works uncomplicated enough in diction and sentence structure for people relatively new to reading, yet rich enough in substance for people not at all new to life. From James Weldon Johnson's rousing verse sermon "The Creation" to a harrowing excerpt from Olive Ann Burns's Cold Sassy Tree, the six works in this volume bridge the gap between simplicity of language and complexity of vision. The selections are diverse, ranging from the quiet intensity of an excerpt from James Still's River of Earth to the broad comedy of Flannery O'Connor's "The Life You Save May Be Your Own." Home Voices is the sixth in the series New Books for New Readers, acclaimed for a style, vocabulary, and sentence structure that neither "talk down" nor pose too much difficulty, yet appeal to adult tastes.
