Das gilt zweifellos und in zunehmendem Ausmaß für die Geschäftswelt - und damit auch für die einzelnen Unternehmen, die darin eine zentrale Rolle spielen. Denn es ist nichts mehr voraussehbar, alles bewegt sich immer schneller und schneller und gleichzeitig in alle Richtungen und auf allen Ebenen. Globalisierung, Klimawandel und vor allem Digitalisierung gehören zu den Schlagworten, die die Allgegenwärtigkeit von Veränderungen im Geschäftsumfeld hervorheben . Gerade in einer hoch dynamischen Situation wie der aktuellen Corona-Krise sind Führungspersonen gefordert, ohne Zögern die Initiative zu ergreifen und in kürzester Zeit die richtigen Entscheidungen zu treffen, um Katastrophen zu verhindern und die Mitarbeiter zu beruhigen. In derartigen Krisen, in denen Organisationen zu unerwarteten Veränderungen verpflichtet werden, wird besonders deutlich, ob sie sich tatsächlich in einer so genannten "VUCA-Welt" befinden. Dies soll im Zuge dieses Essays thematisiert werden. Für ein besseres Verständnis müssen dabei einige Fragen geklärt werden: Was bedeutet VUCA? Was bedeutet organisatorischer Wandel und welche Formen gibt es? Welche Auswirkungen hat VUCA auf das Verständnis vom organisatorischen Wandel? Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, definiert Kapitel 2 zunächst den Begriff VUCA und zeigt die Bedeutung des organisatorischen Wandels auf. Anschließend werden verschiedene Formen des Wandels anhand des Ausmaßes und der Art und Weise des Veränderungsprozesses unterschieden und eine Abgrenzung des ungeplantem vom geplanten Wandel vorgenommen.

The VUCA forces present businesses with the need to move from linear modes of thought to problem solving with synthetic and simultaneous thinking. The study begins by investigating the aforementioned VUCA attributes within micro- and macro-economic business environments. Following, five models for leadership in the VUCA world are described. Afterwards, it focuses on finding similarities between the previously described models. As a result, five important areas are defined that leaders have to focus on in order to stay competitive in the VUCA world. These areas are: Communication, analysis, flexibility, team orientation and vision.
