Rod Jellema has been writing and publishing poems for over thirty years. His work during that time has been described as bursting with raw poetic talent. In this beautifully shaped compilation, readers will find the best poems from Jellema s four previous collections along with a new grouping of poems appropriately titled Still . Though ranging widely in subject, these poems are all united by Jellema s point of view and his ability to explore, with both pathos and comedy, the stabs of joy that leap from deep inside a fallen world of redeemed, incarnate things.

As a kid, Ramona always loved visiting the McInney family next door. They provided comfort that her own household never could. Plus, she always had a thing for Scott McInney . . . the boy who knew all her secrets . . . the boy who up and married her twin sister, Vanessa, instead. Scott broke Ramona’s heart. Now that Ramona and Scott are all grown up, things aren’t going well for the McInney family. Mrs. McInney is in a coma after a cruel twist of fate, and Vanessa ran off soon after the wedding. No one knows where she is or why she left. Now it’s Scott’s turn to be heartbroken. Before things can get any worse, Mrs. McInney wakes up in her hospital bed. She’s groggy and confused, but she’s going to be okay. The only problem is that her heart is still weak, and any shocking news could prove fatal. Scott knows he can’t tell her about his wife’s disappearance, at least not right now. There’s only one thing he can do: ask Ramona to pose as her sister - his wife - at least until things calm down. Ramona thinks she can handle the charade. All she has to do is suppress all those years of pining, and infatuation . . . and love. It’s easier said than done, though, because the more time she spends with the handsome boy next door, the more she realizes that she can’t keep her hands off him. English Ditransitive Verbs written by Joybrato Mukherjee and has been published by Rodopi this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Computers categories.

The present book offers fresh insights into the description of ditransitive verbs and their complementation in present-day English. In the theory-oriented first part, a pluralist framework is developed on the basis of previous research that integrates ditransitive verbs as lexical items with both the entirety of their complementation patterns and the cognitive and semantic aspects of ditransitivity. This approach is combined with modern corpus-linguistic methodology in the present study, which draws on an exhaustive semi-automatic analysis of all patterns of ditransitive verbs in the British component of the International Corpus of English (ICE-GB) and also takes into account selected data from the British National Corpus (BNC). In the second part of the study, the complementation of ditransitive verbs (e.g. give, send) is analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. Special emphasis is placed here on the identification of significant principles of pattern selection, i.e. factors that lead language users to prefer specific patterns over other patterns in given contexts (e.g. weight, focus, pattern flow in text, lexical constraints). In the last part, some general aspects of a network-like, usage-based model of ditransitive verbs, their patterns and the relevant principles of pattern selection are sketched out, thus bridging the gap between the performance-related description of language use and a competence-related model of language cognition.

Festival Of The Fatapult written by Nathan G. Sellers and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-06-21 with Fiction categories.

Festival of the Fatapult is a collection of short stories by Nathan G. Sellers. This book pays homage to and brings back the classic form of short story telling made popular by such American authors as Washington Irving, Stephen Crane, Edgar Allan Poe, Bret Harte, Edith Wharton, John Cheever, Raymond Carver, and a host of others. The book goes against the modern convention of short stories by bringing the hyperbolic back to what used to be one of the most popular forms of entertainment. In accordance with traditional short story form, Festival of the Fatapult spans a vast array of literary genres, from a touch of romanticism to a dab of gothic, from mystical and magical realism to fables and folk tales; part fantasy and part satire, this compilation is covered with absurdity and complimented with the Nathan G. Sellers style of literary entertainment. Contained in this book are eight short stories—all strange, thought-provoking, and comedic. There is something for everyone in these pages. Fans of classic short stories will love this book, and those who are not fans will soon become ones.
