Warne Worn tells the story of how the Baggy Green cap - an enduring symbol of the Australian spirit - became a rallying point for the country's response to the devastating 'Black Summer' bushfires of 2019/20. Among many fundraising initiatives and acts of generosity around the country, Shane Warne's donation of his original Baggy Green for auction captured the imagination worldwide; eventually fetching a record of more than $1 million that was donated to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. The successful bidder was the Commonwealth Bank, which soon after established a national tour to give the public a rare opportunity to see the iconic headwear up-close, raising further money for local communities hit hardest by bushfires and drought. Warne's cap visited New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and Victoria - including 'The Big Appeal' charity match at the Junction Oval, and the landmark ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final at the MCG - before the tour was abruptly paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its final destination will be the Bradman Museum in Bowral, NSW, where Baggy Green no. 350 will sit among 21 others worn by the likes of Don Bradman, Adam Gilchrist and Belinda Clark. Warne Worn documents events of early 2020, from crisis to international response. The tale behind Warne's donation, and the high-stakes bidding that ensued, will be revealed; before the book reflects on the leg-spinner's decorated and eventful Test career in images and anecdotes. It then traces the CommBank Baggy Green Tour over its journey to Bowral, with stories of loss and hope from ravaged communities, and gestures of solidarity and generosity from around the country. The final section covers the Bradman Museum's 'Baggy Green Team', featuring career summaries of each player who wore a Test cap on display at the Museum; with concluding reflections on the enduring virtues - Australian spirit, resilience, mateship and inspiration - embedded in the fabric of a unique piece of sporting apparel. The project is an opportunity for the Foundation to raise money in support of aligned causes related to the bushfires (e.g. affected cricket clubs, communities in the Southern Highlands / regional NSW etc.

Shane Warne, who died in 2022, is universally acknowledged as one of the greatest cricketers of all time – and the greatest spin bowler ever. Warne in Wisden records the highlights of an exceptional career – handpicked from all Wisden publications over more than 30 years and curated for a global audience. Warne in Wisden features coverage from Warne's first Test against India in 1992 – where he took one wicket – to his retirement from Test cricket in 2007, having taken 708 Test wickets. It includes complete reports and scorecards for key Tests, as well as Wisden's assessment of his impact on the English county game and the Indian Premier League, and his journey from master spinner to global celebrity. Warne combined a prodigious talent for leg-spin with a turbulent life off the pitch. While Wisden's focus was generally on his cricket, Warne in Wisden also relates the controversies and rows that earned him a occasional mention in the Chronicle section of the book. Wisden's authoritative and independent voice/writing provides a unique insight into one of the most discussed cricketers in history. 'A superb portrait of the most brilliant cricketer of his generation' Mike Atherton Shane Warne dominated cricket on the field and off for almost thirty years - his skill, his fame, his personality, his misadventures. His death in March 2002 rocked Australians, even those who could not tell a leg-break from a leg-pull. But what was it like to watch Warne at his long peak, the man of a thousands international wickets, the incarnation of Aussie audacity and cheek? Gideon Haigh saw it all, still can't quite believe it, but wanted to find a way to explain it. In this classic appreciation of Australia's cricket's greatest figure, who doubled as the nation's best-known man, Haigh relieves the highs, the lows, the fun and the follies. The result is a new way of looking at Warne, at sport and at Australia. 'Bloody brilliant... As good as anything I have read on the game' Guardian Winner of The Cricket Society and MCC Book of the Year

The story of cricket is littered with big stories, like Bodyline, underarm balls and tycoons changing the game. But, like Tony Greig checking out the pitch with his keys, sometimes things fall through the cracks. Sticky Wickets takes a look at stories both big, small and perhaps forgotten. From bees and their dislike of cricket to a storm caused when a cameraman criticised a Test player's fielding. It's perfect to pick up when rain delays play.

Coming Down in the Drink is the story of Flight Lieutenant John Brennan DFC. John is an Irishman who need not have fought in the war at all. A sense of adventure took him to London where he trained as a chef before joining the RAF and qualifying as a wireless operator/air gunner.Posted to 148 Squadron in the Middle East in 1941, John was soon in the fray as the front gunner of a Wellington, flying daily sorties to Benghazi in what was known as the mail run, bombing enemy ships that were offloading vital supplies to Rommel and the Afrika Korps. As much at risk from faulty engines as enemy action, John completed a tour of almost 300 hours of operational flying, including an operation in March 1942 in which his Wellington suffered an engine failure and came down in the sea. He thus became a member of the Goldfish Club.Posted home and commissioned, he spent time instructing in Scotland, surviving yet another accident in which his pilot crashed into a mountainside. Volunteering for a second tour, John joined 78 Squadron in the summer of 1944, being crewed with one of the flight commanders. He completed his tour, this time as a wireless operator, in March 1945, by which time they were operating in daylight in support of the Allied advance. He was awarded the DFC.John is one of the only surviving wartime members of the Goldfish Club, and has a fascinating record of 63 operations that covers both the forgotten bombing war in the Middle East in 1941/42, operating from strips of sand in the barren desert, to a main force heavy bomber squadron in the snow of Yorkshire at the end of the war.
