The Marines of Ghost Squadron are humanity’s foremost black ops specialists who strike without warning and vanish without a trace. They will do whatever is necessary to protect humanity anywhere in the known galaxy. With the Commonwealth increasingly unstable thanks to venal politicians, greedy financiers, and power-hungry revolutionaries, they don’t lack for missions. When an undercover Constabulary officer vanishes after uncovering a massive cartel-run human trafficking operation, the Commonwealth’s interstellar police force calls for help from Naval Intelligence. Because the cartel’s operations could upend the delicate political balance between the older core worlds and the more recently colonized outer star systems, Ghost Squadron gets the job. Its mission: find the missing Constabulary officer and choke off the growing slave trade bedeviling humanity’s perilous galactic frontier. Ghost Squadron’s commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Zachary Thomas Decker, spent the last ten years as a Naval Intelligence agent. His job was thwarting plots and terminating the Commonwealth’s internal enemies alongside his partner, a trained assassin. Now, with several hundred of the deadliest Marines ever fielded at his back, Zack Decker will change the course of history and usher in a new era. Humanity's interstellar empire ended in "Ashes of Empire." Witness its birth a thousand years earlier in Eric Thomson's new series "Ghost Squadron."

I remember playing Truth or Dare? while camping with my cousins or at birthday parties with my friends. We would do some pretty crazy bold things just to show we werent chicken. Growing up in church, I learned Bible verses and even memorized them. I knew what the truth was and knew Scripture by heart, but the dare part was missing. You see, a dare is an actionsomething you do! This Bible study is a twist on the old game of Truth or Dare. It goes through sections of the Bible, which is the truth of Gods Word, and then it dares you to act upon that truth. I Dare You puts action to faith and allows you to prove that you arent afraid to show others that you love Jesus Christ!

While growing up in Cleveland, young Charlise Lyles experienced turbulent events including race riots and a neighborhood murder. Yet she was inspired to appreciate literature at a young age, and she spent her days reading—and also often searching for the estranged father who taught her that love of learning. Despite starting in the “slow class” at an aging school on Cleveland's east side, Lyles had a thirst for knowledge and drive for success that would open a door to new opportunities. “We Dare Say Love” takes up the critically important issue of what it means to educate Black male students in a large urban district. It chronicles the development and implementation of the African American Male Achievement Initiative in Oakland Unified School District, following a small group of Black male educators who changed district policy and practice to create a learning experience for Black boys rooted in love. The book takes readers inside the classrooms and inside the heads and hearts of program founders, leaders, and instructors to understand their pedagogy of care. It also elucidates the rituals, beliefs, and practices that created a classroom environment that held high expectations for the engagement and achievement of Black boys and provided a space for Black male students to blossom. “This book offers an anti-deficit, anti-essentialist perspective of Black males’ performance in schools and gives nuance to the stark realities that young men face—some thriving, some struggling, some making progress, others seeking a place to be recognized for their full human potential.” —From the Afterword by Tyrone C. Howard, professor of education, UCLA and author of Black Male(d): Peril and Promise in the Education of African American Males “Chapters capture the multiple dimensions of collaborations and partnerships required for such systemic change, one of which is a fundamental wrestling with the metanarratives in the United States and elsewhere around the Black body and in particular the Black male. We can all learn revealing lessons of struggle and victory from the chapters of this volume.” —Carol D. Lee, Edwina S. Tarry Professor of Education and Social Policy, Northwestern University Contributors: Baayan Bakari, Christopher P. Chatmon, Shawn Ginwright, Jarvis R. Givens, Jerome Gourdine, Gregory Hodge, Tyrone C. Howard, Jahi, Patrick Johnson, Na’ilah Suad Nasir, David Philoxene, kihana miraya ross, Maxine McKinney de Royston, Pedro A. Noguera, Sepehr Vakil
