English summary: Religious motives can often be found in medieval Galician-Portuguese 'Cancioneiros', but in research little attention has hitherto been paid to them. This volume focuses for the first time on the aspect of female religiosity, in this way gaining new insights into female identity in the 'Cantigas'. Following Hannah Arendt, women's religiosity is regarded, like female narrative, as a political discourse that enables women to participate in the public sphere. While devotion is increasingly put to question by love discourse, narrative gains significance. This study focuses on the correlation between female devotional practice, love discourse and the resituation of female narrative. By means of these three aspects, gender relations are realigned, signifying for the protagonists of the 'Cantigas' a loss of societal agency and a changed access to space. German text. English summary: Two women, members of 17th century papal court-society and actively involved in influencing life at the Papal Court, are the focus of this dissertation: Anna Colonna Barberini and Maria Veralli Spada. An examination of the day-to-day correspondence of the two nobelwomen allowed the author to illustrate and compare the family, societal, social and political networks of the two protagonists. The results differ for the two: On the one hand, we get to know Donna Anna, the proud Colonna daughter, who legitimizes power and status through her old aristocratic origins and considers herself superior to her husband, the Pope's nephew Taddeo Barberini. On the other side is the Marchesa Maria, the exemplary head of the Cardinal House of Spada and close confidant to the head of family, Cardinal Bernardino, who played a key role in promoting the societal emergence of Spada through her loyalty and tenacity. Vom 11. September 1893, Vivekanandas erstem Vortrag vor dem Weltparlament der Religionen in Chicago, bis fast zu seinem Tod am 4. Juli 1902 hielt er unzählige öffentliche Vorträge und Seminare im Westen und in Indien. Die vorliegende Werkausgabe enthält eine repräsentative Auswahl in drei Bänden: 1. Die Vier Yogas sowie die Aphorismen von Patanjali 2. Reden vor dem Parlament der Religionen und Vorträge 3. Gespräche und Aussprüche. Swami Vivekananda setzte sich schon früh nicht nur mit der indischen, sondern auch mit der westlichen Philosophie auseinander und war auch sehr an den zu dieser Zeit aufblühenden Naturwissenschaften und technischen Errungenschaften interessiert, was er in seine Lehre einfließen ließ. Er verband westliches und östliches Denken, Philosophie, alltägliches Leben und die Einsichten der Wissenschaften. Seine Ideen basieren auf der Lehre des Vedanta, den er, und das ist ganz neu, als eine universale Religion verstand und nicht nur, wie traditionell, für (indische) Asketen geeignet und gedacht. Dabei betonte er die Bedeutung der persönlichen Erfahrung und die verändernde Wirkung bis in die Gesellschaft hinein.

There are three apparently contradictory aspects that define the religious features of South America: traditionally strong Catholicism, Protestant and Pentecostal denominations that have gained strength since the 19th century, and religions of pre-Columbian origin that have survived and developed further. This volume offers a descriptive account of these strands as the living religions of people today, which can be inquired into by ethnologists and religious scholars. In the process, the book divides South America into two religious areas: the Central Andes region, where pre-European traditions were already incorporated into local Christianity in many places during the colonial period, and the area east of the Andes (and to a lesser extent the northern and southern Andes), where separate religions survived more autonomously, but lost a large number of their adherents in the 20th century due to new, intensive Christian missionary work.
