Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich VWL - Verkehrsökonomie, Note: 5.5, Universität St. Gallen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit 1996 sind Ausschreibungen im öffentlichen Verkehr der Schweiz möglich. Diese Arbeit analysiert mit Hilfe eines mathematischen Modells, welche wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Effekte bei Ausschreibungen zu beobachten sind und stellt Überlegungen zu damit verbundenen Problemen an. Wie sich zeigte, sind Ausschreibungen in vielen Fällen ein probates Mittel zur Kostensenkung, jedoch mit gewissen Einschränkungen. „Wenn Viele fahren wollen, wird es teurer“ (2011), sagte MEIER-EISENMANN über die zunehmende Anzahl an Pendlern im öffentlichen Verkehr. Dies widerspricht gängigen Theorien. Sowohl die Konsumenten als auch die öffentliche Hand sehen die Preise lieber sinken. Aus diesem Grund sind seit 1996 Ausschreibungen im öffentlichen Verkehr möglich. Im Bereich Bahn werden Ausschreibungen kontrovers diskutiert, im Busbereich wird davon bereits Gebrauch gemacht. Diese Arbeit zeigt die Funktionsweise von Ausschreibungen sowie damit verbundene Problemstellungen auf. Zunächst werden ein historischer Überblick sowie die politische Entwicklung der Thematik wiedergegeben. Darauf folgend werden einige wirtschaftliche Überlegungen dargelegt, welche anschliessend mittels eines mathematischen Modells vertieft werden. Im Schlusskapitel werden mögliche Fragestellungen für weitere Arbeiten aufgezeigt.
