To the younger generations if you vote, you must read my book. Don't vote. Read my book, then vote. We all must be on the same page. Read between the lines. Don't just read it; understand each statement. I have lived through all the damage from a country where people were happy and employed. When freedom was a reality, a few years ago, I found out about a brother I had in Canada. I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know him. He was a successful man who raised a family of six. This man gave me the information about my mother, Marie Delina Corrine LeBlanc. She was born in Fox Creek, Westmorland County, in Canada. Wow, what a family tree. My mother's family side during 1990 US census has family census 42,500 just on the LeBlanc side. I was raised in Connecticut, and my father was a union carpenter in Hartford, Connecticut. I was the baby among eight children; what an experience growing up. Never mind that. Anyway, I always remained neutral, believing what my parents had taught me. The government is here to provide the employment opportunity so you could work and provide for the government in the form of taxes. This system worked well for the majority of people. Anyway, this book is about the last forty years and a little about the 1897 1929 era, what led up to the recession of the thirties, how long it took to just get people going again, and the systems that were designed so people would have safety nets. So no one experienced again what they went through in that era. Those people went through hell; they were some very resilient people. Anyway, in 2012, I saw a familiar name running for president. Knowing what this man did in Massachusetts, I decided to start writing. I made a bunch of fliers and started to hand these out to people randomly, explaining what I knew to be true about what he had done to the people of Massachusetts. It was okay for him to outsource jobs, force people to buy insurance, and do everything possible to benefit the conglomerates and millionaires, but his idea of helping the people by outsourcing jobs was what was best. As we know, this does nothing to benefit the people in their daily lives. During all my research, I got mad and sent a letter to the White House. Much to my surprise, three weeks later, I received a response from the White House. Wow! They actually responded. So as time went on, I kept writing. I wrote a two-page short story I titled "Two Recessions." I, in turn, mailed this to the White House. About three months later, I got another response. Wow! Someone is actually paying attention to the citizens of America. For thirty-five years, I have waited for a president to do something to reverse the effects of the North American Accord. Thanks, President Obama, for the action you took to reverse the damage from this act that Ronald Reagan created, which has been devastating to the working-class people's lives. Families were destroyed, farms were destroyed, and factories closed. Hey, how do we, the people, provide for our families? No one had any solutions, so the safety nets that had been created by our ancestors stretched to the point of breaking. So if you want to know what happened to America, read my book. I have lived through all the damage. From the day of the speech about the North American Accord, everyone thought it had no effect until the signing. Wrong. Look back in history; the truth is there. I am a simple person. I have made my living as an auto technician for twenty-five years, six of them as a state motor vehicle emissions inspector, and this gave me the advantage I needed to keep my head above water. If you are mad about what is going on today, look, read, and understand the information that is in this book. If you don't believe it, do the research I have done. Once again, I am an offspring of two families with four hundred years of American history. Everyone is wondering why our deficit is growing. Well, for forty years that we have been outsourcin

How did America become so screwed up? The answer is probably not what you expect. To find the truth, journey through the tumultuous history of a nation that has weathered storms of epic proportions. From the haunting legacy of chattel slavery to the fiery crucible of the Civil War, there has long been a struggle for unity and identity-to shape the American landscape. As brother fought brother on the battlefield, families were torn asunder, and the soil of the nation was stained with the blood of countless fallen soldiers. Yet, even in the aftermath of war, healing remained elusive as Reconstruction gave way to a turbulent era marked by corruption and blind hatred. The waves of change crashed relentlessly upon America's shores, bringing with them a tide of immigrants whose arrival stirred both hope and fear. Despite the promise of diversity, tensions simmered beneath the surface, threatening to tear apart the very fabric of American identity. With the immigration reform of 1965, the nation underwent a transformation, ushering in an era defined by widening divisions and searing resentment. Today, America stands as a fractured mosaic, its once-unified identity splintered into a myriad of factions held together by money and bureaucracy. In this truly all-American story, explore the rise and descent of a nation whose journey reflects the complexities of human nature and the enduring struggle for unity in the face of adversity. If you want to know how and why America finds itself in such trouble, then get ready for a thought-provoking examination of this nation's past, present, and uncertain future.

Most of the people leading the United States of America graduated from the best colleges and universities, and you'd think they'd be capable of making wise decisions. But most of our founding fathers didn't attend Harvard, Yale or any other institution of higher learning; they made decisions using common sense-and perhaps a little help from God. Abraham Lincoln learned to read from the Bible. That's the kind of leadership we need today, but most politicians refuse to seek advice from the Lord or even the everyday Americans they're supposed to represent. We can't just blame them-we're the ones who sit back and allow them to make bad decisions. The first step to solving the problems we face before they overwhelm us begins with understanding them. Find out where we've gone wrong and how to do your part to get the country back on track in America! What Happened?

Is America in an unavoidable decline or is it on the cusp of resurgence? Our Real War: What Happened to America provides a sobering look at America's future by analyzing two case studies. The first case study focuses on Great Northern Paper and the town that it created: Millinocket, Maine. The second examines General Motors and its tragic bankruptcy. By exposing the ugly behind-the-scenes truth, Our Real War: What Happened to America exposes the players who are undermining America's future. It reveals how the ideals of Big Government, Big Labor, and Big Business are sacrificing Main Street. Millinocket's 30 percent unemployment coupled with a staggering population decline is an omen to the nation. A more familiar example can be found in General Motors' historic bankruptcy. The devastating after-effects cripple the nation's job creators. Small businesses are left helpless while Big Government, Big Labor and Big Business ride off into the sunset. Just as the collapse of America is unthinkable today, both of these examples were unthinkable a generation ago. Americans cannot be held hostage by Big Government, Big Labor, and Big Business. With the information contained in Our Real War: What Happened to America, we don't have to. A new and prosperous future is at our fingertips. By illustrating what made America great, exposing what is destroying it and providing solutions rooted in our founding fathers' wisdom, Our Real War: What Happened to America is a first step to a better future.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “The single most important explanation, and the fullest explanation, of how Donald Trump became president of the United States . . . nothing less than the most important book that I have read this year.”—Lawrence O’Donnell How did we get here? In this sweeping, eloquent history of America, Kurt Andersen shows that what’s happening in our country today—this post-factual, “fake news” moment we’re all living through—is not something new, but rather the ultimate expression of our national character. America was founded by wishful dreamers, magical thinkers, and true believers, by hucksters and their suckers. Fantasy is deeply embedded in our DNA. Over the course of five centuries—from the Salem witch trials to Scientology to the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, from P. T. Barnum to Hollywood and the anything-goes, wild-and-crazy sixties, from conspiracy theories to our fetish for guns and obsession with extraterrestrials—our love of the fantastic has made America exceptional in a way that we've never fully acknowledged. From the start, our ultra-individualism was attached to epic dreams and epic fantasies—every citizen was free to believe absolutely anything, or to pretend to be absolutely anybody. With the gleeful erudition and tell-it-like-it-is ferocity of a Christopher Hitchens, Andersen explores whether the great American experiment in liberty has gone off the rails. Fantasyland could not appear at a more perfect moment. If you want to understand Donald Trump and the culture of twenty-first-century America, if you want to know how the lines between reality and illusion have become dangerously blurred, you must read this book. NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY THE SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE “This is a blockbuster of a book. Take a deep breath and dive in.”—Tom Brokaw “[An] absorbing, must-read polemic . . . a provocative new study of America’s cultural history.”—Newsday “Compelling and totally unnerving.”—The Village Voice “A frighteningly convincing and sometimes uproarious picture of a country in steep, perhaps terminal decline that would have the founding fathers weeping into their beards.”—The Guardian “This is an important book—the indispensable book—for understanding America in the age of Trump.”—Walter Isaacson, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Leonardo da Vinci

This book examines the Trump phenomenon and presidency as fascist. Fascism here connotes not generically "bad" politics or a consolidated political-economic regime (Mussolini’s Italy or Hitler’s Germany) but a set of political, movement, and ideological traits understood within the context of the neoliberal-capitalist era. While Trump’s election defeat is a respite, the nation is far from out of the neofascist woods. Defeating the menace will require political and societal restructuring far beyond what is imagined by Democrats. This argument is developed across seven chapters that recount Trump’s assault on the 2020 election, specifically define the meaning of fascism as it is used in this book, demonstrate the neofascist nature of the Trump presidency, engage intellectual class Trumpism-fascism-denial, analyze the Trump base, root Trumpism in a longstanding and indeed founding American white nationalism, examine why Trump rose to power when he did, and suggest paths for fascism-proofing the USA.

This is an economist-turn-businessman's view of what happened to America in his lifetime...that is between the Depressions of 1929 and 2007. The narrative starts with the ballooning Federal Debt. Then...it considers the competing economic development theories of John Maynard Keynes and Milton Friedman; and it ends with Modernized Marxism and the Presidency of Barack H. Obama Jr.. It is the story of the New Left and the Far Left in America. The critical pivot point in this narrative is the election of President Obama in 2008. He is a Radical Socialist whose election was, in effect, a "Bloodless Coup" by what is the Far Left of the Democratic Party. Senator Obama was a viable Presidential candidate of "many gifts but precious few accomplishments". BUT he was elected twice and has doggedly implemented his radical socialist agenda. The author contends that the U.S. is now in uncharted territory where the welfare of the average American is likely to become materially worse rather than better.
